Carefull now you can not really apply a standard to this question. What some men call heroic others would consider monstrous.

Einstein's theory of relativity applies to more than a simple physics equation.

There are a lot of very good men and women fighting in wars all over the globe. They are regularly forced into situations that require they do some things that we might consider very bad. This does not make them bad people.

You must find the context of an action before you can even begin to qualify it.

Those who bring harm upon others for simple gratification and self indulgence would generally make my "needs a cuff across the skull" list.

That said point these predators at others that might say harm a child and you begin to make allowances for their appetites. So the why becomes as important as the what.

My experience, logic, understanding. I try to walk in their shoes and work to empathize with them. It's not easy, but I feel there is no absolute right and wrong, but simply make any decision taking into a consideration of the particulars.

I don't tend to accept the concept of evil, but only as mistakes and actions made from a place of pain, ignorance, power or insanity, for instance.

Good questions. I've personally always hated the phrase, "What would Jesus do?" The implication is that he would do the 'right' thing. Well, in that case, just do the right thing, who needs Jesus?

If their actions affect the innocent in a negative way, their actions are bad.

If their actions affect nobody at all then they are ok.

If their actions are solely positive and in no way negative to anybody, they are good.

If somebody does good but has to do something awful to do that good, it is still wrong but may be the only way to avoid more evil coming in to the world.

It's more involved than that but that's the simplified version.

Either way, don't judge them, judge their actions.

I don't often use those dichotomies, people is for the most part selfish and or stupid, and so are their actions.

I don't judge them...in order to label them "good" or "bad", I'd have to pass some form of judgement.
