No. I came here knowing that the god concept is logically impossible and that's what I still know.

It would be kind of scary if that happened, your foundation beliefs on God, the Divinity, Allah, Yahweh, etc. is what makes you, well you. Religion is part of everyone's identity, whether you believe in one or not. And for someone to influence what you believe in that area, especially someone who may have not know what they are talking about, that's just really disquieting. I've believed what I do for a long time, and after a lot of soul searching, I hold my convictions absolutely. I would never let myself be swayed by others.

I can say with honesty that the R&S section has helped to strengthen my understanding of God and His Son Jesus Christ.

I have also become more appreciative of other's beliefs and our differences which I believe are wonderful and should be celebrated!

I have had to question some of my assumptions, which is why I keep coming back to find out the areas of knowledge in which I am still weak. Thanks guys. I don't appreciate many of the stupid questions that are asked in this forum to get a rise out of some of the people that are labled fundies, they end up being counterproductive. Fundies don't care about the question, they end up becoming offended and believing what they believed before even more strongly.

I have learned to adopt a more fluid concept of God and truth. I have always considered the Bible to be somewhat figurative, but I think that R&S has helped me understand the danger in adopting an absolute concrete definition of truth to the point of faulting others.

The belief that God's chosen think for themselves. I seriously thought there were less people with the dark-ages mentality. It is sad really.

My beliefs about god believers have changed. I never knew there were people who *actually* believe the earth is 6000 years old....

Yes, it made me appreciate my religion more and feel sorry for the ignorant closed-minded and stereotype people who insult others' beliefs.

This whole site has backed up the stereotypes of americans. and the R&S sections has made me scared to go to america because they are all ignorant bible bashing, racist, homophobes who need to get a wider look at the outside world

No, they have not. They are, however, most interesting and thought provoking. Everyone has an opinion and I will not begrudge them of it. It's the ones who put everyone and thing down that get me angry since they usually do so without any real knowledge to back them up.

No, not really. It's just refreshing to be in a place where the number of atheists and Christians is about the same.
