Who are the goodest people(in general)on earth,
i think christians are, especially catholics, followed by other proper religions.

Are goodie athiests real or imaginary considering that athiests have no reason or incentive to be good.
How do athiest know they are good?
If athiests actions are anything to judge them by they are bad, especially on yahoo answers.

Thanks.

I have noticed I have some followers intent on giving me thumbs down on all my answers but I don't really want to make mine private. How have some of you decided? Does it bother you that to avoid trolls, you have to prevent anyone from getting to know your answers? Does it disappoint you when you can't read someone's answers when you like their style?

I'm beginning to think there are two:

One is the Christianity born of the doctrine of men (catholic, protestant, orthodox, etc.)

The other is the christianity based on the teachings of the Messiah.

What do you think?

He or she is not totally discredited? Why do they go on to make other predictions which are equally faulty? Even worse, why do people still follow them when they've been wrong once. I know there is something psychological at work, but frankly, it baffles me.

... disagree with your answers?

Does it bother you that your knee-jerk need to explain away any accusation against your god is -so- predictable it can be used to manipulate most of you into defending one silly position after another, endlessly?

Has it occurred to you how easy it would be for me to slip amongst you and convince you I'm a very devout christian who understands the Lord?

How many others with less integrity than I have already done so?

It could be anyone at all, Someone who despite their belief system, you still hold a lot of respect and admiration for. Me personally would have to choose Francis Collins. He is a Christian Scientist who is also head of the Human genome project. Although he considers himself Christian he still acknowledges evolution and the big bang as fact. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francis_Collins

Last week I asked if soldiers who have killed will go to hell.. The general consensus from christians is no justified by a variety of rationales most notably they are defending their people, families etc.

Ok so if I can expand the question a little further. Do christians think that soldiers whose armies defend non-christian nations will go to hell if they kill?

talking about Jesus and God, and they wanted to go to sunday school to learn more would you let them go. Would you let them make thier own disiccions without having your non beliefs stuffed down thier thoats? If they ended up becoming christians would you leave then alone or try and discourge them into thinking like you? I am not trying to to nasty here, I jst want to know if you would respect your childs desiccion like you would want them to respect yours? Just curious. And if they ended up wanting to be baptised would you still love them. If they prayed a lot and read the bible a lot would you still love them? If they gave thier hearts to Jesus will you still love them?

According to Christians where exactly is Satan right now? Is he physically chilling somewhere or does he have mini satans in our brains tempting us?

I obtained a copy of the new world translation of the bible and couldn't believe how different it was to other bibles that I have read.

As an LDS I have had the scripture in Revelation quoted to me ad nausem so I was wondering whether Pastor Russell died of plagues or how he died.

How many times have I heard christianstry to compare the faults of atheists and other non-christians with the faults of christians?

As if atheists et al worship one god, or get their truths out of one book.

I suppose if you adopt a faith that says only ONE truth gets to heaven, you assume everyone else believes in ONE lie.

Does it never dawn on you that because atheists et al never adopted a code that says there can be only ONE truth, they are free to believe in many different things, and still be true to their belief that christianity is dead-wrong?

Does it not occur to you how comical you look, each elbowing each other and sticking each other in the eye over whose One truth is THE ONE truth, all the while yeslling at us to believe -your- ONE truth is THE ONE truth?

You cannot even agree amongst yourselves, except for the ONE truth that there can only be ONE truth (yours, not anyone else's, not even christians who disagree with you).

You can't see it, can you?

I've seen a few names, and on looking them up they are not actually recognised scientists with peer reviewed work, or often without accreditted degrees etc, Dr Kent Hovind amongst others.
Who are these "top scientists" that support creationism. Names please.
Thank you

There was a question was posted yesterday, a Christian seemed concerned that non believers wished to harm them. Is this a common belief?

Considering that Agnostics and Atheists have never started a religious war, never killed anyone for not believing in a certain sect, it seems to me that it's the religious folks you need to be worried about.

We follow Athanasius because he was an effective religious 'mobster'?

[edit] Allegations of violence
Some modern historians suggest that the tactics of Athanasius were a significant factor in his success. He did not hesitate to back up his theological views with the use of force. In Alexandria, he assembled a group that could instigate a riot in the city if needed. It was an arrangement "built up and perpetuated by violence."[13] Along with the standard method of excommunication he used beatings, intimidation, kidnapping and imprisonment to silence his theological opponents. Unsurprisingly, these tactics caused widespread distrust and led him to being tried many times for "bribery, theft, extortion, sacrilege, treason and murder.[14] While the charges rarely stuck, his reputation was a major factor in his multiple exiles from Alexandria.

I am not saying that all Christians are like I’m about to describe them, but many as a matter of fact are. First of all, Christians need to understand that gays do NOT choose to be gay, they are BORN gay. Many Christians find it hard to accept this fact, why? Because the Bible clearly says that homosexuality is a sin, that God despites homosexuality. If Christians accept that gays are actually born that way, it would mean that God deliberately deprives gays from their natural feelings when He Himself created them that way. Christians compare homosexuality to murderers, thieves, child molesters, and etc., Christians claim that if gays were born gay, then murderers, thieves, and child molesters would also have to be born that way. What Christians don’t understand is that gays are born gays, they do not become gays. A gay does not have to have had sexual intercourse with someone of their own to sex in order to become gay.

A Romanian convict's legal action against God failed.
Pavel Mircea, from Timisoara, who is serving a 20 year sentence for murder, launched legal action against God two years ago. In his claim, he stated:"God and I closed a contract when I was baptised and God did not respect his part of the deal." And he demanded compensation for all the money he spent on candles and church services which he claims did not help him either. But the prosecutors have decided to drop the case after two yhears. A spokesman said, "We could not find God's address." (TOI)
