... disagree with your answers?

Does it bother you that your knee-jerk need to explain away any accusation against your god is -so- predictable it can be used to manipulate most of you into defending one silly position after another, endlessly?

Has it occurred to you how easy it would be for me to slip amongst you and convince you I'm a very devout christian who understands the Lord?

How many others with less integrity than I have already done so?

That's strange,...

I've had that very same thought,...
... however, I didn't limit it to Christianity.

ANYONE who has a single-minded devotion to a belief or a cause can usually be manipulated quite easily by one who takes the time to understand those tenets and doctrines which the 'devotee' cleaves to,...
... and it doesn't require a genius-level intellect to perform such a manipulation.

Given this,...
I've seen 'knee-jerk' reactions on here from hard-core atheists, as well brass-bound theists, - and I don't think it would ever occur to either of them that they may have been manipulated;...
... given their devotion, why would they?

That said, - and I mean no insult by this,
... by your apparent devotion to anti-Christian views, has it occurred to you that some of the rabidly antithetical views which you seem fond of posting have been elicited by the 'manipulations' of a Christian who has less 'integrity' than you claim to have (which, if one were to read your posts, means virtually every Christian)?

If not, - then how about the manipulations of a non-Christian, perhaps even a neo-pagan, posing as a Christian?

Psalm 94:8
Take heed, you senseless ones among the people; you fools, when will you become wise?

Proverbs 17:28
Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue.

Proverbs 29:11
A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control.

Romans 1:22
Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools

1 Corinthians 1:20
Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

1 Corinthians 1:25
For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.

1 Corinthians 1:27 (Whole Chapter)
But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

1 Corinthians 3:18
Do not deceive yourselves. If any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a "fool" so that he may become wise.

Well this can happen in many situations, with many subject titiles and in many many walks of life.

We are all different, we all have opinions and we don't all think exactly the same... this is not news to us. Even as Christians sit around a picnic table after hearing the same message, each of us can get something different out of it.
It's being positive toward it and applying what was heard to your walk in life that counts the most.... God will work thru each of us if we haven't got something quite right in our teachings ... he'll have the holy spirit minister it to our souls in the appropriate timing...

And.... I'm sure there were many with less integrity who have tried to fool some of us with their faith.... but you know what?
That is between themselves and the Lord... doesn't affect my spiritual walk at all...

just because they come under the same broad band of faith, does not necessarily mean all Christians think exactly the same. if they did, then i could understand people calling Christianity a brain-washed cult.

The knee-jerk reaction is something found all too much on here - and maybe people should sometimes accept criticism, i know that, and myself included - but then again, if you believe something strongly enough, you want to defend it. People having different opinions doesn't mean that the other people are wrong, and it does not disprove anything - and being exposed to other people's points of view can only be a good thing, right?

Although you should already know my position from my responses to your previous questions, I will ask (mostly in fun)

The question is, sir...does it bother you that Christians behave in such a manner? If so, why? What vested interest do you, as a non-believer, hold in identifying "un-true" Christians? Is it hypocricy in general that you despise or only hypocricy in Christians? What concern of yours is it that many a man has claimed to be devout and understand the Lord without holding Him true in their heart? You obviously have a strong inquisitive mind seeking truth in action - Will you be coming over to "the other side" to show us by example what being a "true" follower of Christ is??

:-D

I'm not a christian, Orion, but I wonder why you would want to do this sort of thing. They say, "love is akin to hate", and by this they mean that 'love' and 'hate' are both strong emotions. You, my friend, sound like you have an emotional need to be involved with religion and you're just 'fishing' for proof that it's good enough for you to accept. These beliefs come from the heart, not from the evidence. Just go with the flow, or find something more rewarding to do with your time. Best regards.

santa, you're a hemorrhoid...no one is afraid of you. no one is impressed...you just irritate the s'hit out of most of us...

and integrity? coming from someone who says, "Has it occurred to you how easy it would be for me to slip amongst you and convince you I'm a very devout christian who understands the Lord?"

which leads us to understand that your intentions have never been about educating or informing others. if any atheists claim you, they had better take a close look at you and your agenda...the only thing you know about integrity is how to spell it...

Christians...this is how Satan works...

It would be foolish to try and claim responsibility for every person who professes to be a believer. If you choose to represent yourself as a believer without sincerity, then you will answer for your behavior. I only hope that you are unable to do much harm with such irresponsibility.
As far as your description of a 'knee-jerk' response, I think you have young Christians attempting to answer who don't have enough background yet. Don't worry, they will get there and you will be surprised at how much you will be teaching them about defending their own faith.

Lots, probably.

I don't use IE, partly because it's vulnerable to viruses. It's vulnerable partly because it's popular, so a lot of viruses target it.

Popular religions are equally targeted; look at the people who use Islam for their own ends. And in Israel, I bet there are those who use Judaism.

If a venal idiot is going to cry out slogans to justify his need to make money or trouble, I'd just as soon have his slogan be, "Love thy neighbor!"

We love you; have a good life.

Doesn't bug me.

I can't explain God all the time. I'm not sure why he does the things he does at times.

I am able to explain some of the doctrines as I study them more in depth though. Most are bunk.

Yeah it's easy to pretend.

I'm sure many have pretended to be something else in order to stump someone.
