God send Jesus to come and change the peoples attitude towards life and others.God dont want stupid people that only cause damage to themselves.God is lovePeople suffer because of lack of knowledge God wants them to love each other and do unto others as they would like others to do unto them.
the people dont listen, they get selfish, they start to hate and blame each other, then they curse God and say that it is God that is causing it , then they turn away from God, and feel sorry for themselves and become atheists.
God says come to me and i will go to you if you abide in God ,God will make you free from sin ,hate, depression and all bad things.Unfortunately the church of today is trying to keep the governments happy , that is why the church is the antichrist.People go to church and then go home and kill each other. it was also the church that had Jesus crucified. for standing up to it

Well its always the people that are the cause. Sometimes God will punish, but it's because of the people. If there are believers, and they are being disobedient, then yes, God can, and may punish the country /nation. Israel is prime proof of that. Look at all they have had to go through, because of the disobedience.
Jesus even said that he would punish them. Then draw them back together from every part of the world. Which happened in 1948. Something that has never happened to any nation, ever in history. The Jews were waiting for their messiah to come, which he did. The messiah is Jesus. But for some reason the Jews thought he would come in a great big broadway extravaganza type of thing. So they thought Jesus was a fraud. But some Jewish leaders knew it was him, and refused to let people know that, because they loved the praise from people, more then the praise from God. So God punished the nation because of this disobedience. And he was pretty harsh with that punishment, but it was because they were his chosen, and they had been horribly bad. Worse then the non-believers toward him.
With love through Jesus Christ,
Dusty

Why you think struggle is punishment, it is neutral and necessary for the growth of a nation, at any time a nation feels supressed on physical, emotional or mental realms it have to do some struggle to achieve its goals of happiness , contentment, and freedom. We must not call its people stupid, unless and untill we come to know the results of their sacrifices and struggles, at any given time with their aims and objectives of their struggles. No progress is possible without any struggle. Struggle is the energy of life. God reflects through the actions people do take, but the results of their actions are due to their fate. Whatever written in the fate, will prevail in the end. If their actions are without compassion, they will ultimately suffer in this world and in the next too. Call it their reward, of their deeds, their punishment. But struggle is not punishment, it is the symbol of living nation.

God does not punish. God waits patiently for all to repent. It is the karma of those stupid ppl that bring about the compounded bad effects a country is experiencing.

When a country struggles, it could come from a number of reasons, most likely from men's choices.
One of these choices is to leave God out.
Those countries go into a downward spiral in all areas, morality, civil obedience, etc.

Notwithstanding the fact that God certainly can punish a nation, He usually doesn't find it necessary to do so because of the "stupid" people you mention.

There are many reasons why God allow countries to suffer and many times we don`t know why until far into the future. Britain for example, was dealt a serious blow to it`s economy when Mad Cow disease and foot and mouth disease forced them to slaughter many of their animals. This caused people, including the Prime Minister to call on everyone to pray for their nation, and there was a revival there. The Columbine High School shooting also brought prayer back in schools.
But there are other reasons why countries suffer. Sometimes they suffer because the people refuse to stop participating in sexual immorality, which in turn spreads disease and overpopulation. . Sometimes governments are unjust, sometimes religions are violent, sometimes people are just violent or there is a lack of resources and greed or the need to survive takes over. In the Bible, the Lord used wars, famines, to condemn people, but also to bring them back to him and help them to depend on Him. He also used persecution to force people to spread throughout the world and look for new frontiers to spread His word or to go to better places. The thing to do is ask which one of these is true of you or your country?
