I am not saying that all Christians are like I’m about to describe them, but many as a matter of fact are. First of all, Christians need to understand that gays do NOT choose to be gay, they are BORN gay. Many Christians find it hard to accept this fact, why? Because the Bible clearly says that homosexuality is a sin, that God despites homosexuality. If Christians accept that gays are actually born that way, it would mean that God deliberately deprives gays from their natural feelings when He Himself created them that way. Christians compare homosexuality to murderers, thieves, child molesters, and etc., Christians claim that if gays were born gay, then murderers, thieves, and child molesters would also have to be born that way. What Christians don’t understand is that gays are born gays, they do not become gays. A gay does not have to have had sexual intercourse with someone of their own to sex in order to become gay.

A priest, for example, may never have had sex in his whole life, but he’s still considered a heterosexual. Whereas a murderer does not become a murderer until he actually kills someone, he does not become a murderer just for having the thought of killing someone. See the difference? Sure, a gay guy can choose whether or not to actually act on his feeling or not, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that he’s still gay. By BECOMING a murderer, thief, or child molester you actually hurt someone else. But by being BORN gay, you don’t hurt anyone. So how can these two aspects be compared? Now for you heterosexual Christian guys, ask yourselves, did you actually choose that you would be attracted to girls, or did it happen naturally? When you look at a picture of a naked girl, why do you feel aroused? On the contrary, when you look at naked men, why don’t you feel anything? Did you choose for it to be that way

Do you tell yourself, “Ok, I choose to feel attracted to this naked girl!”? The answer is obviously NO. The same is for homosexuals. Secondly, if gay guys themselves confirm that they did not choose to be gay, what make you think that you would know better than the actual source? I’m gay, and I can tell you that I did NOT choose to be gay. Just try to think logically for once, why would someone choose to be something that is hated and discriminated? There is no reason that someone would choose to be gay. A thief chooses to be a thief because he wants money, there’s a reason behind it. By now some may be convinced that gays are born that way. But then Christians would continue by saying, “Well, they might be born gay, but it doesn’t mean that they must act upon their feelings, this is a test from God they must with stand (or a temptation from Satan)”, however you want to put it.

So what are you suggesting…that gays are not allowed to have any sexual relation for their entire lives? Or do you suggest them to get married with someone of their opposite sex despite not being sexually attracted to her at all? (This would be considered very immoral) Gays CANNOT become heterosexuals, just like heterosexuals CANNOT become homosexuals. Being gay does not hurt anyone, they are just being themselves. Just because the bible says homosexuality is wrong, doesn’t make it true. The bible also says mentions the “four corner of the earth”, and earth as a motionless object. These are obviously not true. What if you were told that you are not allowed to have any sexual intimacy for your entire life, would you be able to do that? This might not have changed your minds, but just try to think logically for ONCE.

Wow...you should try reading.....
Medical Science......Medical Journals........that is NOT written by Christians now....it is written by secular medical people..........now say that homosexuality is a choice brought on by one's enviroment........i.e.....people who you surround yourself with, etc. causing a person to make the choices that they make.
Murderers make their choices, rapists make there choices, Christians make the choice to be Christian.....we all make choices that define our lives.
Being gay is simply a choice.........backed by Medical Science research
Try some research before making your comments next time.

God despises all sin equally and its the practice not the person which is referred to. Sex is meant for procreation that is it purpose yes i know many it also for fun and also the issue of contraception but that does not change the fact of its original natural purpose . Since the sixties we have had an increase in stds and aids and also teenage pregnancies in my opinion because we turned away from biblical morality. Christians should be compassionate and welcoming to homosexuals but that does not mean condoning sexual practice.

But the Bible doesn't mention homosexuality.... except for in translation....
It does mention homosexuality in the context of prostititution, worship of other gods and adultery as wrong, but, at the worst, homosexuality is on par with sitting on the bus next to a woman with her period.
Why Christians focus on that when, oh, gossip and lack of charity to the stranger are mentioned far more often is beyond me.
Every Christian who is divorced makes Christian marriage a laughingstock, so if they oppose gay marriage, they'd better not be divorced, EVER.

I agree with everything you said. It is insulting and degrading to be compared to murderers, thieves, etc. Ignorance and stubborness is the only explanation for small-minded thinking like that. Let us all try to put aside our differences and look at each other as fellow human-beings. Life is hard enough without oppression and harsh judgement. pugwashjw: you don't have to have sex to know whether you're gay anymore than you have to have sex to know whether you're straight. Not all homosexuals are sexually compulsive. Some are quite in control of their sexual impulses.

Your logic is thought out and presented well, but it isn't God's logic - its man's. People are born with all kinds of propensities, most don't act upon them. Nor, is it essential that homosexuals act upon theirs, yet you seem to maintain that it is imperative that they must have sex. It isn't. You're blaming the entire malady upon God, but sin is never God's fault.

How can a man who has not ever had relations with another man still call themselves homosexual. That implies a feeling of attraction. and that is something that can be controlled with willpower.
All bad habits can be stopped with willpower.
Your augument is a copout for weakness. Even Paul said...that is what some of you...were...
It is the act that God despises.

All through recorded history the proportion of gay to straight people has remained constant. In spite of being brutally repressed at times and accepted at others the percentage does not shift much. If it is that constant over time in spite of attempts to make it more acceptable or less acceptable then it is likely a natural feature and not a choice in any sense of the word.

God doesn't make people gay.
He wants man to marry a woman and have children, that is His plan for mankind.
Animals don't know better, so that argument doens't apply.

To all those who say gays are not born gay, they choose to be gay. STFU! I can use that same ignorant circular logic on you. It is the same as saying, "Christians and super religious a$s's were not born breathing they choose to keep breathing." Well if gays can "change" as you say, why don't you change? Do us all a favor and change your stance on breathing, we need the oxygen for those of us that use our brains.
