Having read these answers, it is the consensus that an individual human being can make a difference on the course of history.

----

You are an individual human being.

What will be your contribution to the history of mankind?

How many lives will you touch today with either a smile or a frown?

How many people will you help or save?

How far reaching will be your impact?

Why not start over and reprogram humans to be nice and caring and loving? Seriously, We are basically a flawed experiment. Please don't answer by using scripture. Answer on your own with your own words.

I thought I had seen everything until I saw a Chick tracts and this site: www.jesus-is-savior.com

How can people actually believe that the pope is the antichrist? Sure, I know many Protestants hate the pope, but why do so many believe he is the antichrist? I highly doubt that the Catholic church is going to persecute people nowadays. What's your opinion on this?

I am so inspired by the questions and answers posted here by former JWs, Mormons and SDAs. Your faith has truly saved you!

So my question for you is this: if you could put your finger on one moment in time when you said to yourself, "I've been deceived," what would that moment be? Was it something someone said or did? Was it something God showed you during private Bible study or prayer? Or was it something else that caused you to see your first flicker of God's true light?

I have no idea how I could possibly pick a "best" answer to this question; I may have to let the community vote (which would be a first for me). But since I'm a "softy," if your story makes me cry, I may just vote for you! ; )

Current adherants to these organizations are not requested to reply.

Someone on another question said:

"Jews believe that one is born into the world with original purity, and not with original sin. Jews do not believe in original sin. "

I always thought that the whole idea of original sin came from Adam and Eve taking the apple in the garden of Eden, and that tainted all their descendents. This is part of the heritage that Jews and Christians share, so I assumed they believed the same thing.

When did Christians start believing in the idea of original sin, rather than the original(?) Jewish idea of original purity?

I was really surprised at how many people on here claim to be atheists ( sorry if I misspelled it). Im personally not an atheist but I just wanted to know how being one improves upon your lives if at all because I know personally that having a faith greatly makes my life so much happier and fuller...Im not judging your beliefs, I was just curious. Thanks!

I was watching various documentaries the other day with outspoken athiests. Sometimes, i wondered if they got a little emotional...because they would say things that were perhaps rather exaggerated. I think christianity is in general foolish, and ugly, and it seems to lobotomize a bunch of people...But it also seems to me that the US is the pinnacle of tolerance, ingenuity, and compassion in the western world, if you look at this nation today in the perspective of history...I mean, only 60 years ago black kids couldnt even attend white schools...that would be UNTHINKABLE today.Christianity may be rather annoying, but seriously, lets be honest...its nothing nearly as insane as Islamic extremism. Most christians seem to have views which are, perhaps wrong...but also pretty innocuous in the grand scheme of things. Are we athiest sometimes a little too hard on christians? Are we perhaps sometimes too interested in being correct, and go overboard, when maybe we can forgive harmless stuff?

I talked about this with my mom and after she passed away I had a sleeping dream about her bathed in a brillant light. Also I have butterfly wind charms in my house and even though I had no windows open or they were not over a heating vent they moved by themselves and the next day a butterfly hovered near me outside, in a season were there are no butterflys outside. Also when dad passed on I had a vision of him waving goodbye with a smile on his face. I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP! I really want to believe they were telling me they were ok. Death is a great mystery to all of us & I believe in God, but sometimes wonder if there is truly live after death.

I was reading a resolved question asking if mormon's can smoke pot. several mormon's said no because it's bad for the body. I'd like some physical evidence that it's bad for your body. There's more than one way to consume pot as well, so don't assume I mean smoking only. I know smoking is unhealthy, but what about eating etc.. Pot is used medicinally.

how come people say the Things that Jehovahs Witnesses say about the end are not true?

I am a Bible learner, not a full JW yet. But i was looking at my Revelation book and came up with some cool stuff. Please read-

1914 FORSEEN

it was in B.C 607, That Gods kingdom ended, and the diadem was removed, and all the earth given up to the Gentiles. 2520 years from B.C 607, will end in 1914-The Three worlds, published in 1877, page 83

"The Bible evidence is clear and strong that the "Times of the Gentiles" is a period of 2520 years, from the bible year 607 to and inculding A.D 1914-Studies in the scriptures, Volume 2, written by C.T Russell and published in 1889, page 79

Charles Taze Russell and his fellow bible students relized decades earlier that 1914 would mark rge end of the Gentile Times, Or the appointed times of the nations. while they did not in those early years fully understand what this would mean, they were convinced that 1914 was going to be a pivotal date in world

Well to all who said that I have a statement to make it goes little something like this........{I never paid my dew {woo} But have paid a dollar to the clerk in the store, never passed the grade. But big sells I do adore. Even me every time I am on top drop down have to come back up like I'm a servant before his king bowing down. Or a servant before the King on the ground. How many rounds will it take before you'll understand that you'll need to grapple upon Hand. So even though I know this feels sore, the way many men get executed. I also know from what God said 5:12- Rejoice and be glad, for great is your reward in Heaven, for the same way they were persecuted prophets who were before you.

What do you think about zombies?
Do zombie movies bring with them a social, peheaps even a spiritual critic of our society?
What do you think about them? Do you thing they just groan or do they talk stuff like "must eat brains!!" Are they fast moving or not?
More important, do you buy that theory that a virus could revive the most primitive part of the dead's persons brain and so he becomes a zombie? Or you take it they appear under some supernatuaral cause? Woul the taking over the earth by the living dead alter your "cosmovision" and the stuff you believe in? Would the horror make your faith tremble? Would the unexplainable situation make you question those things that science just can't explain and perheaps aknowledge that there is something else?

Do you like zombie movies? What do you think about them?

I do not agree with it and I am not religious. Basically, it seems like he wants to send you all to Hell for not being Catholic.

you can add plenty more to the list I am sure
we have seen that the Golden Rule has been the prominent message in most if not all religions...
many many people throughout the history of religion , sharing similar lives , spreading similar messages ....
same spirit bringing the same message, in a different way to different people of a different age ( in a way they would understand it ) ?

this is my thoughts anyway
and I have to wonder why there is so much arguing about who is right and who is wrong .... when the message is clearly the same

thoughts please ?
