Only those who reject the Bible should answer this question. My very NEXT question will be for those who accept the Bible.

"It's inconceivable that no one at the time bothered to write down anything about the most important person in the whole of human history. Writing was common back then. People wrote letters. Historians wrote commentaries on current events. The Romans wrote and kept legal documents about trials. It's considered one of the best documented periods of history. Yet no one wrote anything about this Jesus; no one painted a portrait of this Jesus; no one drew a sketch of this Jesus; no one cast a coin depicting this Jesus; no one made a statue of this Jesus; no one makes any reference whatsoever to this Jesus. The historical evidence is overwhelming—the Jesus of the Bible never existed"

This has been bugging me since I heard about it. They are using BCE ( Before common era) for BC and CE( Common era) for AD to not offend anyone.

Why is it that christians don't stand up and say stop it. Christians are a group too and I understand that christians seem to have more tolerance and forgiveness than most and aren't offended so easily, but at some point in time we are going to have to stand up for ourselves and tell them our traditions are there for a reason.

Also, What happens when a kid asked what happened to make it common era? Is the teacher being a state employ going to be able to use the word Christ?

What if we all saved, on our computers, the same great answer to the ubiquitous "Why are atheists here?" question, and we all posted that same answer each and every time it's asked? I think it's a great idea, and whoever posts the best answer to that overworn question gets best answer :)

So, why are atheists here, lol?

I read many posts that say that one is to study the original texts that the scripture was written in...cross reference any verses to other verses in the Bible to get a complete meaning. However, many scholars from many faiths do this very thing and come to different conclusions about the same passages. Which is accurate and which is not...Baptists, Methodists, Catholics, Episcopalians, Lutherans, Presbyterians?

Furthermore, why is it that some say that certain scriptures are cut and dry and literal as they stand...when they do not affect their view...but, when you point to one that is contradictory to their beliefs...they use the whole cross-reference, explain it away reasoning?

Who quotes scriptures accurately?

Why is there a double standard by the fundamentalists?

I know that there are some churches that don't require any baptism, and that there are some that require a person to be baptized again into a new church. Are there churches that say if you've been baptized by a different Christian church then you don't need to be baptized again? And if you know, what is the reasoning behind the policy? I'm simply curious.

Agnostics generally don't give a definite answer if there is a god or what he is like.

That's why (most) Christians and Atheists suck donkey balls... They claim to know an "absolute truth" and think everyone else is moronic... I know I'm not helping my case by using such colorful desprictions... but people who think they know for a fact there is no god or that there is a god are some of the most awful people on the planet... I've never been sure about anything, I just know there is a good possibility of an answer....

So the question still stands, what are your reasons for believing that Agnostics are better people than Christians or Atheists?

Say they ask "Do you believe in God?" Why does a yes or a no give an automatic "thumbs down?" It is an honest answer even if it is not yours.

If so, what?

For me, as an atheist, the thing that has made me doubt the most is the beauty of the planet and the complexity of the human body. I still remain firm in my beliefs, but those things made me falter a little.

Play nice! :)
