Just watch where you step. I live in the country and the other day I was walking up to my door and stopped in my tracks. a ten foot water snake was right in my path and my 17 pound cat was sitting there watching him. I understand all life is Divine so I just walked behind him and made sure his head did not turn my way. Snakes don't strike unless they feel threatened.
