Is it a case of winning promotion or avoiding relegation?

I just watched this movie. I found myself crying alot of the way through it! Every time scripture poured out of my TV, I was in tears. I think because most of the time when my TV is on, I hear stuff that isn't very Godly. I have learned something tonight about guarding my eyes and ears. It was a wonderful movie and I wondered if anyone else saw it?

I mean come on, Mormons are living back in the 1850's. What wrong with having a good time with a sweet clean Mormon girl? Plus you know they have got to be going crazy for some of this action after all those years of living like a nun! Get out of the convent baby!

Everytime someone goes through something they don't want to go through, or have a near-death experience, they want to call upon God. But before that, they don't even think about Him. What's up with that?

Did you know cooking and cleaning are not duties for muslim women? What do you think of this quote and the accompanying site?

"A very big misconception held by many non-Muslims about Islam is that married women are supposed to clean and cook for the family. However this is not the case! The Prophet Mohammed used to sew his own clothes, he even used to cook for the family members, he used to work hard to provide for the family, govern the affairs of the Muslims and he also used to partake in all his household activities. He once said, "The greatest treasure on this Earth is a pious believing woman and the best amongst you is the one who is best to the members of his household." (Bukhari & Muslim) Islam teaches humanity to love respect and form a deep understanding with your spouse, and to always treat them well."

many christians tell atheists that that they too were once skeptic, but now they believe.
i think that very few people who were once skeptical but now are believers were very well versed and passionate about understanding conflicting arguments concerning christianity in the first place.
If you are a christian now and claim to have had serious reservations about christianity in the past, what do you think were the main things that had made you skeptical of it?

I am beginning to wonder whether good reasoning skills are not entirely innate, but require practice. I'm not even trying to be funny or anything--I seriously believe this is true. Of the devout believers in this room, I wonder how many have taken a serious course in logic, philosophy, or mathematics. If any of you haven't, you should go do so. I think it could do some serious good.

If so, then why do so many young-earth creationists take quotes from scientists out of context to make them sound like they are critical of evolution, like they find something wrong with it or something unpersuasive about it?

Individuals like Stephen Jay Gould devoted their lives to helping us understand more about how humans and life in general developed within an evolutionary framework. He also proposed innovative suggestions which he submitted to the scientific community rather than the court of popular opinion to be rigorously investigated and assessed. Yet young-earth creationists quote him as though he had found fatal flaws in evolution. They do this by taking his words out of context so that their meaning can be twisted.

My main question is this: Can you not have the decency of character and the integrity to not treat the writings of scientists in a way that you yourselves find objectionable when done to the Bible? Be consistent.

I not longer believe in God, but I'm put off by the behavior of a lot of atheists. Also, I have no faith in humanity any more and am disgusted by the whole regarding of science as a new religion (i.e., just because a scientists say something is true doesn't mean I will buy it right there; I'm an aspiring physicist in case you were wondering).

BTW, don't tell me to read "The God Delusion". I did and I think Dawkins is an idiot.

the theory of being an atheist is that , one must be 100% SURE there is no god.

but no atheist has all-knowledge!

so thereotically speaking, like what atheists like to do, believe in theories, atheists cannot exist! get it?

religion is different. we have the composite of faith accompanied by evidence.

so theoretically speaking, there can never be atheists.
