Being dragged off to jail undoutedly was a terrible experience (it would freak me out!), and the experience undoutedly forced her to re-evaluate her life.. With great wealth and the ability to focus global media on her maybe she did realize that she could do so much good for others in a real way.. Time will tell.. I hope so for her sake. When she is old and the youngish looks do not draw the cameras, she will need something of quality to reminisce about as a testimonial to her being on the planet.. Something other than silly TV shows or fleeting paparrazi pictures on the internet..

Just imagine what Paris could do and really leave a mark which will be remembered. I sincerely hope that she finds a solid Franciscan friar (like with http://www.ofmconv.org) who runs charitable works and learns how to put what she does know to work for a better world. Time will tell. I would not be too hard on Paris though. Everyone makes mistakes.

Anyone who has not made mistakes has not been living and has not grown up yet..

I have no idea who her wake up call came from, but from the comments she made, it sounds as though there has been a genuine breakthrough. And if so, that's a good thing! At least she now recognizes that her behavior has been inappropriate, that 'cute' isn't an adjective that is desirable for a woman her age, and that she has the power to do some positive things, if she wants to.
That's a pretty big realization for someone like Hilton to come to. Let's hope she retains that outlook and carries through with some of the things she says she will do.
Looks like the judge really knew what he was doing after all?????

I think that she means it about the same way a person who is shocked says "Oh God!" means it. In other words, I doubt that she has been born from above and now calls Jesus her Lord and Savior.

""I know now that I can make a difference, that I have the power to do that. I have been thinking that I want to do different things when I am out of here," she said. "I have become much more spiritual. God has given me this new chance."

Hilton's said her new-found spirituality had led her to believe that her jail stint was meant to be.

"I feel that the purpose of my life is to be where I am," Hilton told Walters. "My spirit or soul did not like the way I was being seen and that is why I was sent to jail. God has released me."

Hilton said she was considering pursuing work to raise awareness about breast cancer or multiple sclerosis."

But that's just what I think. Maybe it's the sprouting of a new faith that has yet to lead her to true understanding about who God is and what Jesus has done for all who will believe on Him. Pray for her, in Jesus' name, amen!

If they hadn't learned to raid my extensive bookshelves by then, I'd be a little disappointed! I'd point them to "The Christians" by Bamber Gascoigne And "The Case for Christianity" by Colin Chapman. The first covers much more Christianity by geography and history than is commonly thought about, and I'd recommend the second to almost anyone, despite me being an atheist: as well as Christianity it has the best (unbiased, as far as I can tell) summaries of almost all the world's major faiths that I've ever encountered in one volume, and good discussion on the varied issues of assessing truth. After my child had absorbed some of that, we'd talk.

I thought it was a wake-up call from the government of the United States, demanding that she be held accountable for her actions, like every other citizen.

God, had nothing to do with it, the good people of America and their government did.

I think that only time will tell for sure, but as much as I wish to see the best in people I have my doubts she's found anything other than a PR person's plan re-invent herself.

rofl. 6 days in jail and she's a convert. No, she's a liar trying to play the sympathy card.

I think that whatever Paris thinks has a great chance of being wrong.
