Why do so many Christians eat Pork meat when God clearly says not to eat the Swine's flesh. Jews and Muslims as well as certain other religions uphold this biblical prohibition.

Why are Christians disobedient in this regard toward God's dietary Laws concerning Clean and unclean meats.

Leviticus 11: 7-8
Deuteronomy 14:6-8
Isaiah 66:17

Don't use the lame excuse that these laws do not apply to New Covenant Christians. Christians throughout the New Testament did not eat unclean foods. Jesus, Disciples, Apostles and Jews did not eat Pork meat.

Son of God, what does it mean? On this web page we have collected some of the chapters from the Bible (Old Testament and New Testament) to help clearify the meaning of " Son of God." God addressed some of his special people as "Son of God" or "children of God." It is also documented that some Prophets have addressed some priests and good peoples as "Son of God" .

Adam is a son of God
(Genealogy of Jesus)..."the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God."
Luke 3:38

Israel
"Then say to Pharaoh, 'This is what the Lord says: Israel is my firstborn son."
Exodus 4:22

David
"He is the one who will build a house for my Name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be his father, and he will be my son."
2 Samuel 7:13-4

Ephraim
"They will come with weeping;
they will pray as I ring them back.
I will lead them beside streams of water
on a level path where they will not stumble,
because I am Israel's father,
and Ephraim is my firstborn son."
Jeremiah 31:9

One of the Good People
"I will proclaim the decree of the Lord:
He said to me, "You are my Son;
today I have become your Father."
Psalm 2:7

Melchizedek the Priest
"Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, like the Son of God he remains a priest forever."
Hebrews 7:3

Other examples for addressing people as the children / son of God:

"You are the children of the Lord your God."
Deuteronomy 14:1

"I said, 'You are "gods';
you are all sons of the Most High."
Psalm 82:6

"Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God."
Matthew 5:9

"But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked."
Luke 6:35

"But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven."
Matthew 5:44-5

"Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect."
Matthew 4:48

"I will be a Father to you,
and you will be my sons and daughters,
says the Lord Almighty."
2 Corinthians 6:18

...",because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God."
Romans 8:14

...."they will be called 'sons of the living God."
Hosea 1:10

"When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance,
when he separated the sons of men, he fixed the bouncs of
the peoples according to the number of the sons of God."
Deuteronomy 32:8

"You are the sons of the Lord your God;
you shall not cut yourselves or make any baldness on your foreheads for the dead."
Deuteronomy 14:1

I might be willing to accept people's beliefs if they thought of god as some sort of natural force, but to give it a gender and to make it seem like some sort of tyrant seems a little ridiculous to me.

Do people honestly, truly believe in this stuff?

ONE thumbs up, how disappointed are you? Do you quickly jump to the next question or do you ponder over your response wondering how you could have said it differently?

I know a few people aren't going to know what a canon is, so just so you know, the Protestant Bible, the Catholic Bible, and the Eastern Orthodox Bible all have *different* sets of books included... There are others too, of course.

Something everyone of all beliefs could follow.

I was thinking "STFU or STFU"
Meaning: Share the Facts (or Faith), Untainted (or Unaltered) or STFU.
We all know what the second STFU stands for so anyway..

Whats your idea for a motto?

With so many religions trying to get you to believe the way they do today people aren't allowed to think for themselves. I'm not saying that all religions are bad but too many are forcing their beliefs on you.

At my cabin in Salt Lake I always find cards and pamphlets with people trying to convert me to their religion. I only visit my cabin in the summer so there is always too much junk piled at my door. So if I don't convert do you believe that I can still have a path to heaven?

Can I get off of the solicitation lists that gets all of this stuff to my door?

We know that "God" and the "serpent" told Adam/Eve different stories, but why was Adam/Eve more convince with what the "serpent" had to say? I mean Jesus was evilproof + has the ability to love + freewill + etc, why not create all humans with freewill + love + evilproof(sinproof)?

P.S. i know some of you christians would say that Jesus was "special", but the fact that God is omnipotent, creating all humans with freewill + love + evilproof + etc should be piece of cake to God.

If you go to court and the judge says you broke the law by J-walking would you say no I sinned. It would be the same thing wouldn't it? If God gave us 10 laws would that be enough? Didn't Jesus die on the cross to fullfill the law? Sending the Holy Spirit into those who recieve Christ to convict us of sin/lawlessness/wrong doing. So that by faith threw grace we could be forgiven of our wrongs if we repent/ask forgiveness and try to walk in the light of life which is Justice Mercey Compasion and Faith and all that is good.

It is also written that I was given free will with which to choose if I will go to hell or not. How can you possibly deem something free when you must fear consequences? That completely conflicts with the definition of free. If I were to hold a gun to your head and say “you have free will to not give me your wallet, but if you attempt to defy me I will kill you.” Does it really feel as if you have a choice in the matter?

1st of all I'd like to state that I respect EVERYONE's right to worship. My husband is neutral, my children and I are non denominational christians and go to church. They're not to go with her nor is she to read any of the literature (some kind of JW children's book) I do not belive in that religion, nor do I think it's right and I do not want them to be influenced negatively, or get confused. So, why are we letting them go? (ah, because she's the grandmother) I would think she would be understanding considering they wouldn't DARE allow their children to go to another church! Instead she jumps on the defensive, gets all upset and really doesn't speak to me anymore. I stand firm by my beliefs, but our relationship is..to say the least strained. I never have to talk religion with her, I prefer to agree to disagree to keep the peace. Why can't she just be understanding..instead when I come to pick the kids up VERY early Sunday mornings I'm greeted with clipped tones and coldness.

I guess I've known it for the longest time, but it's being reaffirmed on this site, that so many folks who think of themselves as being Christian either cherry-pick the Bible or know next to nothing about what's in it. I've only read...and that at least a dozen times...the KJV...I came of age among primitive Baptists...and what's in there should cause a decent, 21th century human being to toss the Big Mac, strawberry shake, and fries he (or she) had for lunch. Gosh, there's some nasty stuff! No, thanks.

Online, I feel free to say what I want because it's anonymous. In real life, though, I try to hide my non belief because so many people I know are very fervant Christians. I don't want them to get upset, pray for me, or judge me for what I think. Is that a dishonest thing, or is it a more diplomatic way to be?
