Mark Twain once said "Go to heaven for the weather; Hell for the company"

I guess he was right.

How do you know that the 2 billion christians aren't "The ones for hell"?

Wouldn't it make more sense for the majority to be right? Christians always said that proof of their religion's rightness. Islam is the world's fastest growing religion, both by birth and by conversion. Doesn't that point towards Islam being the one true faith?

Regardless of whether God is forgiving or not, it would be completely stupid to condemn people for not believing in Jesus. Even Dante said that those people had the opportunity to leave Hell. Otherwise, what about everyone in human history before Jesus? Was everyone in hell?

I'm a Christian, so of course I'm going to say yes. It is sad. But, God is just. If you haven't accepted Christ, you will go to hell. It's not about doing good things, 'trying' to be a good person, or even going to church. It's about a personal relationship w/ Jesus Christ. This is possible because he is not a dead god. He is not an idol or a statue. There isn't any evidence that 'most people are good' or that 'all people go to heaven'. Think hard and you'll see that humans are evil naturally, and we need to 'learn' to be good. We need a savior.

Not all Christians think so. Personally, I think that whatever path you choose to guide you in being a good person is the right one for you. The importance of religion is not what doctrine you follow, but how you use it to enhance your life and the lives of those around you.

P.S. Anyone who calls themself a Christian should know not to judge others for ANYTHING, as that is the true Christian way. Not an easy thing to believe, but no one ever siad being a good person was easy.

Believers of Jesus are the ones to be worried. By just knowing the name isn't like a password enough for one to be accepted to log in to the address in the website.
One have to really know the real name of God and aside from knowing, there has to be a right way to live according to the laws handed down to Moses....www.thename.ph

Even those that believe in Jesus go to hell.
Hell is simply the grave, 6 feet under.
We all go there, awaiting the start of that period called 'the resurrection'.
Don't mention the immortal soul that keeps on living!
Why would Jesus direct us to the 'resurrection' hope if we really never die.
Resurrection means re-making.

Not necessarily. There will be a judgment as well for the unbelievers (see Romans 2:12-14)
If you are an unbeliever and also a wicked evildoer you are screwed, however.

According to the Catholic Church, "Those also can attain to salvation who through no fault of their own do not know the Gospel of Christ or His Church, yet sincerely seek God and moved by grace strive by their deeds to do His will as it is known to them through the dictates of conscience. Nor does Divine Providence deny the helps necessary for salvation to those who, without blame on their part, have not yet arrived at an explicit knowledge of God and with His grace strive to live a good life." (Lumen Gentium 16)

Are they going to Hell? Apparently Christians think so. Some religions may believe in Buddha or another peculiar God, and they may think whoever doesn't believe in their religion or faith can go to a Hell.

Heaven and Hell are man made illusions of after life.

The only truth is that we are here and we can make our world a heaven or hell.
