It seems that the power of the mind would be the only possible way God could have contemplate, designed, and initiated the cosmos. We can close our eyes and imagine so many things on a whim, and while most of them are merely superficial images without depth, what if God could give them that necessary depth?

You have a husband / wife whom you love and respect very much.

One day, they inform you that they are going to jump into a bonfire and die a horrible death because they've decided that the fire doesn't exist and they won't be hurt. Do you respect their free will and let them jump into the fire, even knowing that they are wrong and that they will be burned, or do you do everything in your power to haul them away from the fire, regardless of the intrusion on their "free will"?

If YOU love your spouse enough to keep them away from the fire, then why doesn't GOD love atheists enough to keep them out of hell? The atheist who doesn't believe in hell is the same as the husband who doesn't believe the fire exists. The "free will" of said husband is nothing compared to his safety, so shouldn't the same thing be true of us?

Does God not love us as much as we love each other?

How do you draw that line? I just don't understand how one concept can be reasonable to you, and yet the other not? Is it just a religious line....i.e. because the concept of macroevolution conflicts with your religion too much, or do you have any logical deductions that make you believe this? If bateria, for example, can evolve within your lifetime (Superbugs), why couldn't more complex lifeforms evolve over millions of years? Does believing in a supernatural being that breathed life into dust really make more sense to you?

Just like the KKK-who were radical Christians who apposed
Civil Rights- Radical Muslims who donnot understand the
Muslim Bible (Quran) spread their beliefs around the World.
Do you think it is justified that people should judge muslims
according to illitrate brain-washed idiots who know nothing
of Islam. I question people who readily accept to hate rather
than consider the truth. If i were to judge a man according
to his religious background that would make me narrowminded
. This is how most people judge muslims and Islam.
Regardless Islam is and will remain a message of piece

Would you agree that man is ready to go to any extreme, even crime in order that he can feel good and satisfied? Ready to use/abuse anything and anyone to please himself and gain from it?

I mean what is the source of:
divorce
murder
hunger for power/position
war
pornography
prostitution
immorality
gluttony
desire for fame and popularity
endless comfort and pleasure at the expense of others
slavery
deception
manipulations
etc.

what is common about these things and what drives them? Is it not man worshipping himself?

I recently read an answer that was a 45 page essay on Muhammed and the evolution of Islam written by a doctor of philosophy. That's admirable but, do you think this is the proper forum for such a long work?

How can you enjoy the true pleasures of this life? There is so much to do, so much to experience yet most of you will spend your time with regret, guilt, and, dare I say it, close mindedness concerning other people and their cultures. Wouldn't it make more sense to LIVE your life while you have it, instead of constantly judging yourself and others, regardless of what you think you believe your afterlife rewards might be?

NOTE: While I know there are Christians out there who do "stop and smell the roses" so to speak, but in my experience they've been the minority.

I'm a christian. I'm having trouble with pornography. Every time I look at porn, after I tell god to forgive me. When I ask god to forgive me I really mean it. I try to stop viewing porn for a couple of days, but then I suddenly get caught back in sin. I start looking at it again! Once again I repent. But I want to completely stop looking at porn! I need help.

that those who are "born again" will be taken up from the earth in an instant and the tribulation will begin, which is God's wrath on a Christ rejecting people. Most will not make it thru the tribulation and at the end Christ will return to rule in person and heal the nations, those who have turned to Him. You can read the E book on the link on the left side. Do you agree with her? She says the vision says that the Rapure will happen between Jun21 and Sep21 of this year, then all Hell breaks loose.

doesn't it seem like christians say it's ok to sin because jesus died on the cross for our sins, so it doesn't matter that i am doing something wrong?? it seems as though they are just trying to not feel responsibile or guilty for their actions, because someone else 'supposedly' suffered 2000yrs ago and died for all there wrongs?

it seems as though christians in many ways contradict themselves, and the different denominations base there beliefs on the parts of the bible they have read.

i think religious people do more wrong then aetheists, but religious people are stereotyped and seen as good and holy people, and have some sort of safeguard to say there actions are ok, and all will be forgiven.

do the crime do the time? your sins won't be forgiven if you go to church every sunday, no matter how much soul cleansing you try and do, what you do, will be with you, and affect you for the rest of your life.

An atheist who became a Christian, how is he perceived today? Perhaps better known for 'The Chronicles of Narnia' (put out on TV by the BBC as 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe), do young people know about him? What do you consider to be his finest work? Does anyone care? All opinions welcome.

There are so many various and conflicting interpretations for christianity on here, and some of the illogical, ignorant, bigoted, and self serving, self centered comments are truly remarkable.

What is the cost of this ignorance and spreading of lies..?

If you really loved someone, would you let them walk into a Nazi camp, knowing that they would be tortured and experimented on and worked to death? Or would you haul them off to safety and say, I'm doing this because I love you?

Would you let your child walk off a cliff, knowing that they will be hurt, and that they don't have an understanding of what they're getting into? Or would you respect their free will, and let them walk off the cliff rather than interfere?

I'm guessing that pretty much everyone here values the safety of their loved ones more than they value the sanctity of their free will. So if God loves us even MORE than we love our husbands/wives and children, and if God KNOWS that we're headed to hell for eternity, but he choses to let us go to hell anyway, what does that say about him?

Would you respect a parent who valued their child's "free will" over their safety? Would you respect a husband who stood by and allowed his wife to hurt herself? Is that true love?
