What do you think? In my experiences "spiritual" people are calm and open to understanding, while "religious" people are defensive and are anxious to attack. I find G.W. religious and commits grievous crimes in the name of God (and other corporate reasonings- I am getting off topic though) as do Muslim extremist. Would the world be better without religion? Did communist Russia have the right idea?

This is an idea I saw recently, in a book I was just glancing through in a store. (I don't even remember it, except it was an American history book and the context was our Founding Fathers owning slaves.) To paraphrase, it was this:

"People who can fully and precisely live up to their own standards have set their standards extremely low."

I really loved this, and the concept stuck with me, and I've been using it here and there for a couple of weeks now. I see that sometimes--people who've done terrific things having lapses in judgment.

What do you think of that idea?

I am a born again christian. My husband and I use to be very active in our belief in God. We would go to church, read our bibles and always trust in God. We wouldnt do anything without asking God for his will. But now we've both fallen off the wagon. I feel in my heart that this is the worse time for that to happen. I try talking to God again but it's almost like the words wont come out of my mouth. Everytime I start being Christian again it doesnt last longer than a week or two. I want to be a follower of Jesus so bad in my heart, but Im knee deep in sin. I ask for forgiveness but I dont feel like it's coming from my heart. Please tell me Im normal. Any suggestions on what's helped you other Christians? Please help

My mother says she has always heard that Gideon and his 300 men were left-handed. I suppose this is based on the way they drank the water from the river??? I’m left-handed and I think I would be more inclined to scoop the water into my hand and drink, as did the 300, but why would this be different from right-handed water drinkers? Anybody know?

Here are the verses -

Judges 7:5,6 So Gideon took the men down to the water. There the LORD told him, “Separate those who lap the water with their tongues like a dog from those who kneel down to drink.” Three hundred men lapped with their hands to their mouths. All the rest got down on their knees to drink.

Has this happened to others out there?
Why do you suppose that happens? Especially when you quote from their own holy book. How can you be offended by your own prophet's words?

What about the evidence of design in all of creation? It is obvious that anything that is designed has to have an intelligent creator. For example, a computer never came about by mere accident, but had to have been thought out and planned by an intelligent designer. It is the same with creation, and more so, as the natural world is far more complicated than anything humanity can create.

"The Monstrous Regiment of Women, The Gunn brother’s second documentary, goes all out to demolish the feminist worldview. From a consistently Christian perspective, they show how feminism has had a devastating impact on the church, state, and family.
Starting with the infamous 16th century essay written by the reformer John Knox against the reigning female monarch, the Gunn Brothers find plenty of application to America’s political landscape; where feminists vie for every possible office including the presidency.

You’ll hear from both sides of the argument as you visit a Feminist Convention, a Rock for Choice concert and a Planned Parenthood youth event. Featuring an all star, all female cast, the Gunn Brothers prove that feminism has in fact restricted choices for all women, brought heartache to the lives of many, and perpetuated the largest holocaust since the beginning of time."

If you really think that there is scientific evidence backing evolution, Dr. Kent Hovind (an authority on the theory) has a long-standing offer. He will give $250,000 "to anyone who can offer any scientific proof for evolution". See if you can find some. Bet you can't.

Isn't it your favoured wish that things will get worse, so you can point to these catastrophes and tell people these are signs from your god that the Second Coming is at hand?

The entire second half of the chapter, which contains the 'snake handler' verses, doesn't show up in any copies of the book of Matthew until the third century AD, or any where else for that matter.

A complete fake, with words put in the mouth of Jesus by men who never knew him.

Does this bother you?

Scientists claim to know what ingredients were present when life spontaneously began. But they are unable to recreate life in a laboratory. In the 50's a scientist named Miller was able to create amino acids. That is as close as they have gotten.

I know it seems like im giving Bible folks a hard time, really i'm not trying to. I keep seeing these bible quotes from people claiming it as fact, truth, the true word of god, It seems that the "Faithful" shoulndt need faith if they have "Truth" Id love peoples thoughts. Respectfully,If we can keep the bible quotes to a minimum, thats not what im hoping for in an answer, and it wont help my understanding. I wanna know what you think, not what the bible says.
