"As surely as you live, my lord, I am the woman who stood here beside you praying to the LORD.
I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the LORD. For his whole life he will be given over to the LORD." And he worshiped the LORD there." 1 Samuel 1:26-28 (NIV)

May God bless you and your husband as you raise your children up and may they never depart from the love of the Lord. :)

Mark chapter ten is good.

Personally I did not take my daughters to be dedicated by anyone .. my husband and I did that before the Lord in a very personal way. I know this might sound strange... but these little girls were given to us by the Lord and we took it as such a sobering, God fearing calling. So our time was really spent thanking the Lord for them and giving them back to the Lord ... that as they grow ... they will have a heart to love the Lord Jesus.. that they would put Him first because He is worthy of that place. and not just so that the " other things " will be added to them.. We prayed for wisdom and grace to raise them before the Lord. This was a precious time and i hope that you'd be encouraged to also do this personal dedication with the baby's daddy before God.

We did however give a note of thanks among all the brothers and sisters when we met for church and asked that these children be remembered in prayer as they grow in widsom and stature and in favour with God and men for the Glory of God.

Lets keep praying for our kids and be proper patterns in the Lord before their eyes.

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Proverb 17:6
Children's children are the crown of old men,
and the glory of children are their fathers.

I've always loved that one - cuz I do love my father & grandfather sooo much! My grandpy tells me I remind him of his mother (my great grandma) & this makes me realize the perpetual energy of mothers & families that is eternally divine!
