Of course this applies to men too. I think we can all understand the expression.

I strive for a balance too but I was more of a Martha in my youth and as I age I tend towards more and more of a Mary.

Martha. (Maybe Doubting Thomas a little too.)

As a follower of Jesus I have always been the one at the feet of Jesus asking the questions and up the front in church and asking questions. I know how to serve by helping the church get ready and packing up chairs at the end but when the preacher is preaching I am first to be up the front listening and taking it in and asking questions if I am allowed.

I have been blessed to have met both Mary and Martha on earth in visions as they have come to visit me. Martha told me that she loved me as I am one of few men that have never lusted after her sister. That made me very happy.

Mary Magdalene was Martha's sister many people don't know that.

Have a great day.

Blessings.

PS Be busy and cook the food but when the preacher is speaking be at his/her feet

When I’m getting ready for dinner guests or trying to organize anything I am definitely a Martha. But I am learning from Mary’s example to take the quiet time with Christ.

Both. It is hard to be Mary in the wold of Martha, but I try. I try to keep it in good balance. : )

As a male can I answer this too Debra? I hope that I have the qualities of both these good and humble women, to serve and listen to the Word I think is a good balance indeed, how about you?
