I like this guy that's a mormon, even though I don't know him very well, and I'd like to ask him to hang out with me sometime but I don't know much of anything about being a mormon since I'm a christian.

Atheists: are you happy being an animal?

Christians: Are you happy being a no good sinner?

Pagans: don't you just love nature?

I ask a question about who does not agree with Dispensationalism last night and only got a few answers. I guess I was either over peoples heads or people just didn't know what to say. OK so I will spell it out. I do not beleive that the Jews are God's chosen people. All that believe in Jesus Christ are His people now. The Jewish nation and return of the Jews has no Biblical meaning now. A future temple in Israel has no Biblical backing. There will be no pre-trib rapture. John Darby got it all wrong and if you have a Scofield Reference Bible you are greatly decieved. Who agrees with me?

In general, I like Catholics. I don't agree with a lot of what they believe, and they know I'm a heathen, but they seem to like me too. They're pretty much the only Christians I've personally known who I can actually have conversations with about aspects of religion without being told "you just have to open your heart" or "you're not listening, God is talking."

So I went to a Catholic funeral recently. A lot of the ritual was kind of baffling to me, but right near the end "Father Frank" was waving the censor (?) over the coffin and he said "and the incense smoke rising symbolises our prayers going to God."

It was a small thing, but I really appreciated it, and such a human touch.

So my question is, how come I can't get the same kind of honesty and "human" interaction with the majority of followers of other "brands" of Christianity as I can from most Catholics?

insist that the bread and wine served at communiom are simply symbols of the body and blood of Christ. When Jesus said at the last supper:
"This is my body which is given to you" in Luke 22:19 and
"Truly, truly I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves" John 6:53 and
"For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. He who eats MY flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him." John 6:55-56

Just wondering how that is explained. Thanks.

Yours in Christ

Howcome there is so much division between the three main abrahamic faiths (islam, christianity, and Judaism). You would think, being so similiar, all worshiping Yahweh and 2 of them acknowledging jesus, you would be closer together.

I'm not any of them, but just wondering.
The Baha'i Faith is my favorite of all Abrahamic religions by the way.

The latter half of Matthew 18, parable of an unmerciful servant...

"In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart" Matt 18:34-35

Muslims tell me here in the middle east that mohamed commanded that females be circumcised. ALL muslim women are circumcised here (the clatoris is removed).
Fatwas published:

Fatwas are published opinions by Muslim religious scholars. They are non-binding in law. But Muslim believers are expected to follow them. In Egypt, a number of Fatwas have been issued by the influential Egyptian Fatwa Committee on FGM:
bullet 1949-MAY-28: They decided that it is not a sin to reject female circumcision.
bullet 1951-JUN-23: They stated that female circumcision is desirable because it curbs "nature" (i.e. sexual drive among women). It stated that medical concerns over the practice are irrelevant.
bullet 1981-JAN-29: The Great Sheikh of Al-Azhar (the most famous University of the Islamic World) stated that parents must follow the lessons of Mohammed and not listen to medical authorities because the latter often change their minds. Parents must do their

The Apostle Paul wrote:

"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;" Ephesians 5:25

Paul was Not a Catholic, yet he knew that Christ loved him and died for him. Certainly, no one would dare say that Paul was Not a Christian because he was Not a Catholic.

Would anyone suggest that God only loves Catholics?...
or that Jesus only died for Catholics?
Such would be the case if the Catholic church was the "God's One and Only Church".

For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM should Not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

The church in the New Testament is simply the Body of the Saved and Jesus Christ is its Head.

Eph. 3:5
Eph. 2:19-20
Eph. 5:22-24
Acts 2:47

Seriously! Alot of wars, and even ethnic problems have their problems traced to religion.

I wish organized religion was gone, and we all just worshipped at home in our own way. what say you all?

One woman said we should not let our kids pray in school, and we said,OK. Then some people said we should ban the Bible from schools because says thou shal not murder, be ye kind one to another, obey your parents, etc. and we said, we can live with that.
Now people are asking, why dosn't God protect our childen in the schools?
That is simple, we have told Him that HE is not welcome in school. You cannot have it both ways, either you want Him in schools which includes His protection or you want Him to stay away from school and our children get mowed down from lunatics with guns, bombs and an agenda.
So if you do not want God in school quit complaining when HE does not stop the killings.

I have through years and years of going to church, and years of reading and studying the Bible come rather recently to the conclusion that the vast majority of it is man created. I just cannot believe a God whom is praised as being so loving and holy would not just allow, but command the cruelty of a great deal of attrocities in the scriptures. There is things of his command that are truly genocide of the innocent. I think man created a faith that he could understand, and also one that allowed him acts of power in politics, society, and sex. As for Jesus...I do believe him to be real yes, but see him more as a man who was a free thinker and truly trying to get in touch with the heart of God...not the dogma and legalities man had created. I do believe in a creator...I believe there is intelligent order to our universe. I just think God is a being or power that man can not even attempt to understand, so we create him in a way that benefits us the most.
