I have through years and years of going to church, and years of reading and studying the Bible come rather recently to the conclusion that the vast majority of it is man created. I just cannot believe a God whom is praised as being so loving and holy would not just allow, but command the cruelty of a great deal of attrocities in the scriptures. There is things of his command that are truly genocide of the innocent. I think man created a faith that he could understand, and also one that allowed him acts of power in politics, society, and sex. As for Jesus...I do believe him to be real yes, but see him more as a man who was a free thinker and truly trying to get in touch with the heart of God...not the dogma and legalities man had created. I do believe in a creator...I believe there is intelligent order to our universe. I just think God is a being or power that man can not even attempt to understand, so we create him in a way that benefits us the most.

Congratulations, you are just like Thomas Jefferson.

When you die and stand before the Throne, you will be asked ONE question: Who do *you* say I am?

It's that simple. If your answer is "yeah Jesus was a really cool dude who had some good ideas...."

Then you will hear, "Depart, for I did not know you."

I agree entirely.

my parents were of mixed churches (Dad's Catholic, Mom's Anglican), they decided I should decide for myself what I would be so I got sent to every church in town as a child. as well as bible camp every summer. by age twelve I'd decided it was all crap. it's not so much a matter of not believing in God, it's more that every church believed the same thing, worshipped the same God, but thought each of the other's was wrong. I decided then that it was all an artificial construct created by and for man and I wanted nothing to do with it. although back then I wouldn't use such big words...

everything I've seen since then supports that theory.

I absolutely agree except for the part that there is a God. I believe there is not. If there, by any chance, was then yes, I don't see how man may attempt to understand. But ultimately God and mainly religion is just a way to keep some people sane.

My opinion

what you have done is compare the bible to see if the bible matches your concept of God. And well, this never works out because God is not what man thinks he is and unless he is ready to accept that he is not going to understand God. So you have to throw out the concept of God which you have in your head and then read the Bible with a fresh and empty head asking God to reveal himself to you. If you do that I am sure that you can see the hand of God everywhere in the Bible even in places where you previously could not believe in God. I just quoted another answer in one of your previous questions. I will just add that here with something additional

1 corinthians 1 : 18 - 25 says that

For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written,

“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.”

Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. "

So God did this so that men who are proud by reason of their wisdom might fall by means of the same wisdom in which they put their trust. So God has chosen the foolish of the world to bring glory to him name because these people are more humble. And no man can see the wisdom of God unless he chooses to humble himself and really seek God.

If you choose to trust in your own wisdom to understand God then you will really find it hard. And just because you did all the religious activities and all it does not make you knowledgeable in God the way you are really supposed to know him. And you claiming that you have done all this and till can't understand God is no excuse as well. What you have done has to be undone and you have to start afresh to understand the real God. I pray that God will give you the power to do just that.

John 3:2-6

this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him." Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."
Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born, can he?" Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

You are of flesh now but you need to be born of spirt reborn as matter of fact and give your self over to God freely. It is not an easy road but a road worth taking with glory at the end.

To have love for God with all your heart is one thing that God askes above all, if you have that all will other things will come more naturly for you.

As for God being ventful yes that is true but he is loveing at the same time. His anger only comes out once in a while but His love is never ending.

Psalm 86:15

But You, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious,Slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness and truth.

As for the Bible being wirten by men that is only half true. Men did write it but with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 3:11

"As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit
and fire.

Mark 12:36

"David himself said in the Holy Spirit,' THE LORD SAID TO MY LORD,"SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND,UNTIL I PUT YOUR ENEMIES BENEATH YOUR FEET."'

Mark 13:11

" When they arrest you and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour; for it is not you who speak, but it is the Holy Spirit.

Luke 11:13

" If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?"

I can you so many more 105 examples to show you God's love through the Holy Spirit. If God can love you without being holy how can you not love Him who is Holy?

John:316

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

God loved the world that He gave His only Son to die for our sins.

Are you ready to love God?

The radical Message of God’s Word “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life” - Jesus Christ

1. Praying (talking to God) daily.

2. Reading the Bible daily. Start with John then the book of Philippians, then Romans. Later, you might want to read the whole New Testament starting with the book of Matthew.

3. Finding and getting involved in a Bible-believing church which stresses the free gift of eternal life

4. Finding a Christian friend to talk with for encouragement and support.

5. Telling others about your new life in Christ ad the gift of eternal life to all who believe in Him
