In marriage, if a couple decides to not have children or cannot have children for any reason, is it a sin for them to have sex?

Numbers 23:19
"God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?"

Genesis 2:17
"But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."

Adam and Eve had further adventures outside the Garden, full of pain and toil, but not death, not that day. Well...?

"Thus the Bible is an organizational book and belongs to the Christian congregation as an organization, not to individuals, regardless of how sincerely they may believe that they can interpret the Bible." (The Watchtower, Oct. 1, 1967)

"We all need help to understand the Bible, and we cannot find the Scriptural guidance we need outside the ‘faithful and discreet slave' organization." The Watchtower, Feb. 15, 1981

When asked directly most Christians will agree that slavery is imoral. Slavery is of course defined as one individual or a group of individuals subverting the personal freedom of another individual or a group of individuals. Regardless of how one found themselves in this situation (forced in by financial ruin, born into slavery, conquored in battle, sold into slavery, etc.) the mere action of one individual removing the personal freedom of another is immoral... Most Christians would agree with me on this point.

Now the Bible has a very different outlook on this.. in fact it contradicts itself. Very early in the bible the isrealites are themselves slaves, and they go through great pains to free themselves from this position. However later in the Bible slavery seems to be condoned not only by god, but by Jesus as well.

How can one believe that slavery is immoral and still claim that a book that condones it is a sound source of morality?

A lifestyle:is the way a person (or a group) lives. This includes patterns of social relations, consumption, entertainment, and dress. A lifestyle typically also reflects an individual's attitudes, values or worldview.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lifestyle

Homosexuality has been documented in nature,
http://www.livescience.com/animalworld/061116_homosexual_animals.html
and if it is in nature, so then being a homosexual is also natural. Homosexuality in humans has also been documented as well in are own human history (actual history not bible history) which was accepted in their culture & others.

So...is a religion a lifestyle, yes/no & why?
Then why all this discrimination if homosexuality is natural.

Live life how you see fit.

I'll let you think up your own examples of the many, many things that are called "immoral" but which, in actuality, do no harm to anyone.

This question refers to non-denominational churches (since this is the only type of church I've seen this in). Is the purple/violet color supposed to be calming, or does the color have some religious signification?

Adultery is a sin also, but you don't see laws against adultery in this country. You'll find them in Saudi Arabia and possibly Iran, but not America.

America is a liberal democratic country (meaning constitutional protections for the minority from the majority), not a theocracy.

my grandparents are Messianic Jews (they believe Jesus is the Messiah, but follow a lot of the Jewish ways and customs). They say the Bible says not to eat pork. But when Jesus said "It is finished" on the cross, didn't that mean that all of the old customs didn't need to be followed anymore, like the sacrafices and stuff. and doesn't it say in the new testament somewhere not to judge people because of what they eat? can someone clear this up for me, i'm confused. thanks!!!!

I know there are many different churches, and widely different variations of beliefs among them. I'm checking my thoughts against what others my have seen or have found to be true.
So, which place seems to be more in-line with what the Bible has said.

What are the chances that the bible is 100% correct, it was written with god's inspiration and over 2000 (TWO THOUSAND) years, nobody has fiddled with it, added or removed bits for motives of their own? Huh? 2000 years? What are the odds that it's all correct?

During this time of evil and non believers we need a leader to emerge and guide us through the coming dark ages and into the light out of the face of the ignorant. This is where i come in...allow me to further explain......As i open the eyes to all non christians for i have all the quality's needed, extreme intelligence and wisdom, i am a man of peace and do not believe in violence. I have a great look (not just attractive) but the look of a trust worthy leader especially to woman. I would also make a truly great general during the final battle and wars against the evil non believing . during the wars i would make several strategic war changing manuveurs that would make me more valuable than jesus but i would give the credit to jesus (another quality of mine is loyalty) for i have a special relationship with him (he's like a little brother). Please my children think hard and deep....will you follow me?

Some would say, "well the inerrant word of God."

But seems to me the "word of God' can be interpreted any which way. In 1840s America, the Southern Baptist Convention was created out of support for slavery. Prior to the modern era, many conservative preachers opposed equal rights for women because they said it was "anti-Biblical." The christian conservative Bob Jones University had anti-interracial dating rules up to the year 2000. They, along with many christians of the past, interpreted the Bible into opposing interracial marriage.

So lots of people in the past have used the Bible to support their bigot beliefs. People today are doing the same thing with gays and gay marriage. They are absolutely sure the Bible is against it, just like the Southern Baptist Church was absolutely sure the Bible condoned slavery.

If he has a plan for all of us.... then how do we explain all of the people in Africa & Asia who suffer in agony, and starve & die every day? To me, that's not much a "plan" at all. That's why people who say that "God has a plan for me" can get on my nerves sometimes.

Some are always asking people of faith to prove God exists. Can anyone prove He doesn't exist? And, can anyone prove that Jesus Christ is not His Son? Can anyone prove that Christ was not resurrected from the dead? Peace.
