It creeped in like a millipede.
On TV you would see comedies including
some reference to being gay; there would
be a really feminine guy working in an office and he'd be really funny, esspecially since he would be acting like a flame. It was funny,
and just comical, so nobody thought anything of it, but sometimes I wonder if it was a way to make it "commonplace" to see it, so as to push a gay agenda. Now, you see it constantly, but if they hadn't kept sliding it in to television programming, then
they never be getting away with what they are doing today, because people would
have had a fit; nobody saw anything like that generally speaking. I didn't know a person had sex with their same gender until
college, and that was in a movie, so I figured thats all it was, couldn't be real,
unless you were attacked by nuts in jail or
something.
Sodom and Gommorah were alot better off
than many of our Cities of today, thats for
sure.
When Christ returns, he will usher in a 1000 yr. period of teaching and disipline; both of which are needed desperately.

The understanding of homosexuality is changing. People would accept it without much discussion before. Now people are less able to sweep it under a rug. The gay activists want to be acceptible in society's eyes and society is jumping to one side or the other. It is the spiritual "dividing of the way" separating the sheep from the goats so people will be clear of their own understanding. Compassion is needed, yet it is an addiction like alcoholism.

When they started coming out of the closet so to speak. Homosexuality has always been here since the fall of man when sin was released. We are to hate the sin, not the person. I know people who are gay, they know where I stand on the issue and that I pray for them<><

I think it has been a gradual thing. We see it in movies and on TV as an accepted way of life. There has been movements to approve gay marriage and gay rights. In fact, rather than being unacceptable to be gay, it seems that it is unacceptable to oppose it! I will not openly attack those that are different than me, but when asked, I will express my opinion. I do not believe that it is acceptable and as a Christian, I have to point out that the Bible is very clear on the fact that it is a sin. We are to love the sinner but are not obligated to condone their actions. I think it is important that people stand for their beliefs, even if it is not popular to do so.

When the homosexuals started demanding that it be a acceptable lifestyle and telling everyone that they have to accept it and started trying to teach everyone that it is perfectly normal behavior instead of the perversion that it is.

I think that it is human nature to rationalize a sin not being a sin. It's another evidence of our sin.

But more importantly, is it convincing another of their sin that is more important than the preaching of the Gospel is?

Why not allow God to convict others of their sin? After all, He does the drawing in, and He does the saving. What we can do is present the Gospel, and let the unknown be His reckoning. After all, we cannot see what God sees.

And about the homosexual, how do you know that is the besetting sin of that person? How do you know that it's homosexuality that ails that person's heart? Let God determine that, I say to those Christians.

JUST PREACH THE GOSPEL. Jesus will work or will not work in that particular homosexual.

The above (2 above) answer is correct, homosexuality was much more accepted in some of the ancient societies. It was pushed under during the church dominated middle ages, and being an out-of-the-closet homosexual really began with the homosexual rights movement of the 60's and 70's (in conjunction with several other civil rights movements such as mexican, women's, Native American, and Asian which were inspired by the sucess of the African American movement of the 50's and 60's)

Homosexuality has been observed among animals. It was around in man long before he gained civilization. Some civilizations thought nothing, or very little, of it. It was acceptable for many long before it was viewed as sinful.

BTW, I live in Missouri (not gay). In Missouri, laws against homosexuality were thrown out as unconstitutional via the US Supreme Court. They were in the process of trying to enforce it when the Supremem Court ruled that and had to throw the cases out.

Homosexuality is just a variant of animal behaviour. It is found in 5-10% of most mammalian species including humans.

Current evidence suggests it is mostly genetic, though there are likely enviromental factors at work as well.

"Sin" is an artifice of religious belief. Most "sins" are things that all humans know intrinsically are immoral, we don't have to be taught. A moral sense and altruistic behaviour would have had survival advantages for small bands of humans. Richard Dawkins has an excellent discussion of the evolution of morality in The God Delusion.
