Although the Bible speaks of Satan using the term "serpent" I do not think that any animal can be truly classified as evil. Perhaps the term serpent was used because at the time of the writtings, it was man's most hated creature...as it is today. Most people have an inherent fear of the creatures although I do not know why. My own personal fear is spiders...so to me, that could easily represent Satan.

there have been numerous animals/that have represented both Jesus and Satan...
Jesus has been described as a lamb when He was sacrificed, but on His return He is described as a Lion
Satan was described as a snake in the garden of eden, but I believe in Revelation we seem him described as a dragon

The goat! you see Satan was once a major player in heaven. He was the most beautiful of angels, but he turned on God and instead of being among the sheep of heaven, he became the goat, a useless animal that devours everything in sight. He grew horns, horns that were used to trample on God's people.
