What are the chances that the bible is 100% correct, it was written with god's inspiration and over 2000 (TWO THOUSAND) years, nobody has fiddled with it, added or removed bits for motives of their own? Huh? 2000 years? What are the odds that it's all correct?

Still correct*! lets nto forget about 500AD, the bible, where was it? It could have very easily been fiddled with. Not like they had CCTV protecting it.

What are the odds that Jesus existed, let alone that he did and the bible is still 100% authentic today?

Jesus existed...that is apart from the rest of your question.

The chances that the Bible is 100 percent correct as God's word, from my own research, is very low. Between the different original materials, the number of translations, that which was never written down, the many different languages involved and the perspective of both those compiling the document and later those who controlled the Bible and what was released "to the public"; as a Christian, I have to say there is a lot of room for error. I would say the same though for any document produced at the time and under similar circumstances.

I think we have a lot yet to learn. I think its safe to say that part of the Bible is indeed true and meant to be the documented word of God.

Hmm.

Plenty of non-Religious historical proof that Jesus did exist.

The Bible was put together around 300 AD. Before that the texts were kept mainly by the Catholic Church. The group of Priests, Bishops got together and decided which books were truly divine among all of the writings of that time. Christians believe that the Holy Spirit guided them in their work, and much of History backs them up as well.

During the Protestant movement in the 1600's some people decided to take some books out of the Bible, and there have been many translations.

I will stick with the original myself!

Peace!

Excellent question!

There is no THE bible. There was at one time. But that time has passed.

There are hundreds of VERSIONS of the bible. Each say something slightly different.

Douay Rheims Version, Jerusalem Bible, New Jerusalem Bible, American Standard Version, New American Bible. Revised Standard Version. Catholic Companion Bible. New International Version. The Message (which in my opinion is no bible at all.) The Pidgeon Bible. (specifically for Hawaiians.)

If you want a bible that is 100% correct, you'd have to go back to the original source. The Aramaic and Hebrew versions.

Which would leave the Peshitta one of the closest. Since it is only translated and not interpreted. Or the original Jerusalem Bible since it was the first to "update" from the ancient dead sea scrolls. Again, word for word translation. Not interpreted.

Any bible that's been "interpreted" is faulty. People can only guess at what is meant. From my point of view, the ambiguity in some texts are necessary. They say something different to each person who reads them. God speaks to each of us differently.

Below is a link to a New Testament that compares 8 different VERSIONS of the bible.

Check out the second link for a small snippet of how different text can be from one translation to another.

Okay first of all if you're going to throw the whole "how do we know that Jesus really existed" card out there think about it with the same way with Alexander the great. People started to write about Jesus five years after his death it took 200 years for people to write about Alexander the Great but yet you probably believe in him right.
Second, know one knows for sure about the bible and whether if was "fiddeled" with but that's where faith comes in. You have to trust that God is still in control and has a plan. And no matter if something was omitted or put in that was false. God will take care of it.
OH and by the way Ghandi once said of Jesus Christ that he was the most moral man to live. You do believe Ghandi lived don' t you?

ZERO, Common knowledge that King James had some of it changed when it was translated into the text used here, the English one, the Hebrew one has a bit different info in it. As an example, the Hebrew bible says jesus was "A" son of god, like the rest of the people on earth are supposed to be, He had it changed to read, "THE" son of god, as though he was the only one.

According to the bible, insects have 4 legs (LEV 11:21-23), snakes eat dust (GEN 3:14), and snales melt (PSA 58:8).
Just a few things that are very incorrect.

The fact that 55% of the Americans think that you should take the bible literally, scares me.

"Christianity was the ultimate product of religious syncretism in the ancient world. Its emergence owed nothing to a holy carpenter. There were many Jesuses but the fable was a cultural construct. Nazareth did not exist in the 1st century AD – the area was a burial ground of rock-cut tombs. Following a star would lead you in circles. The 12 disciples are as fictitious as their master, invented to legitimise the claims of the early churches. The original Mary was not a virgin. That idea was borrowed from pagan goddesses."

I don't think its 100% correct. The gospels contradict one another too much. I do think that Jesus was a real person and he existed and I'll leave it at that.

It'd be really messed up if people did things like that to each other! But then again, just watch the national/world news. I guess it wouldn't be all that strange...

Jesus says that " Till heaven and earth pass, one jot( a dot on an i) or one tittle (a cross on the t) shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled ". I think that's proof enough
