I think so, even the ones like Sanali that keep posting nasty anti-Christian questions. LOVE EVERYBODY. It is a good idea

I don't believe in Satan, nor do I worship Satan. I'm tired of ignorant people.

In the past I have invited church-goers to come with me sometimes to my church and every Catholic I invited said the same thing. They told me it was against their religion to go to any other church than theirs.
It is my belief that God merely wants us to serve Him I don't think it matters where since He knows our hearts. And anyway any religion that dictates ones own choices is a red flag for me. I am Christian and my religion has never put constraints on me. There are things I no longer do simply because they no longer interest me or feel right but the only rules set in stone in my faith are the Ten Commandments. Why would something like that be against religion? What would be the motives of preaching thou shalt not go to any other church? What are they afraid of?

shall it be counted that Jesus died for his sins?

2007-04-08 17:04:09 · 12 answers · asked by abjad 4

"None can come to God but through me, his only begotten Son" This verse is one where Jesus is talking about himself. Do you believe Muslims or Jews can't make it to heaven without believing in Jesus Christ as the son of God? What do you tell to someone who has studied another religion their whole life? Should they just drop everything they know. In other words- is Jesus really the only way for everyone?

When I quoted the Bible literally about celebrating pagan festivals I got the response "If you don't think about it that way, it's OK with God." Does this also mean it doesn't matter if we allow our children to blaspheme without punishment because they weren't actually thinking of poo when they said "sh**?

To have a strong, strong relationship with God is my goal and I do feel that I am on that road, but for some reason everytime I go to pray, whether it be at night, at church, or any other time, my mind always wanders off. I don't even get half way through what I want to pray about before I'm thinkin about something completely different. Does this happen to anyone else? Is there anything I can do that would keep me totally focused while I pray? Thanks!

What authority did "The Council of Nicea" have to create a "trinity" where there are THREE GODS IN ONE?

My 10 year old son was asking how bunnies and eggs got associated with Easter. So I explained about the Pagan symbols and how they were brought into Christianity.
He just could not wrap his mind around bunnies having eggs (his thought), so he thought it would make more sense to have an Easter Platypus.
I had to agree with him on some levels--

what do you think?

How could someone that didn't convert to Christianity until his deathbed spread the "belief" that G-d, "the son", and "the holy ghost" were one-in-the-same?

only 250 to 320 bishops actually participated

The Eastern bishops formed the great majority. Of these, the first rank was held by the three patriarchs: Alexander of Alexandria, Eustathius of Antioch, and Macarius of Jerusalem.

Other remarkable attendees were Eusebius of Nicomedia; Eusebius of Caesarea; Nicholas of Myra; Aristakes of Armenia; Leontius of Caesarea; Jacob of Nisibis, a former hermit; and Spyridion of Trimythous

From foreign places came a Persian bishop John, a Gothic bishop Theophilus and Stratophilus, bishop of Pitiunt in Egrisi

Marcus of Calabria from Italia, Cecilian of Carthage from Africa, Hosius of Córdoba from Hispania, Nicasius of Dijon from Gaul, and Domnus of Stridon

It's a shame, lately I find YA Religion & Spirituality section has just gotten ridiculous. People are not posting sincere questions or trying to spark a sincere debate. They are just posting absolutely asinine questions. Is there anyone on here that is still at least semi-serious?

1 Cor 11: 2
I praise you because you remember me in everything and hold fast to the traditions, just as I handed them on to you.

2 Thess. 2: 15
Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that you were taught, either by an oral statement or by a letter of ours.

Why do some Catholics support illegal immigration when the church's social teaching disagrees with this position?

Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 2241
"Political authorities, for the sake of the common good for which they are responsible, may make the exercise of the right to immigrate subject to various juridical conditions, especially with regard to the immigrants' duties toward their country of adoption. Immigrants are obliged to respect with gratitude the material and spiritual heritage of the country that receives them, to obey its laws and to assist in carrying civic burdens."

Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 2429
"Everyone has the right of economic initiative; everyone should make legitimate use of his talents to contribute to the abundance that will benefit all and to harvest the just fruits of his labor. He should seek to observe regulations issued by legitimate authority for the sake of the common good
