It's a shame, lately I find YA Religion & Spirituality section has just gotten ridiculous. People are not posting sincere questions or trying to spark a sincere debate. They are just posting absolutely asinine questions. Is there anyone on here that is still at least semi-serious?

Well, it is pretty bad tonight, isn't it? I'm usually serious, but when it's a goofy night, I get goofy too. I just go with the flow.

hmmm.... Perhaps the answers you are looking for are here, but you must want them bad enough to sift through all the non-sense. Anything worth seeking a true and helpful answer to is worth the time to research for. I have seen people who's answers appear to be from someone with great wisdom and I have also seen some Q and A that is really aggression towards a particular group. This world is full of much hate and as long as hate is in the world, you won't be able to escape the wasted bandwidth used by persons that don't understand the difference between a service that is set-up for the sole purpose of asking and answering questions, and an open forum created with no real purpose or direction. The only way to make R & S more of what it was intended to be is to simply ignore the ignorance and continue seeking, you will find.

I'm not ashamed to say I believe in Jesus and that he is my Lord and Saviour. Therefore I'll tell you what my Jesus says about finding answers:

Luke 11:9 (New Living Translation)
9 “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.

I hope you find the answers you are looking for.

Spirituality could be simply defined as connection to something "greater" than oneself and thus helps you to free your soul from the clutches of materialistic things; whereas religion can be defined as a set of beliefs and practices held by a human community and thus helps to make a sort of limits for humans.

My dear, though sprituality and religion seems to be contradictory but are actually complementory. Can we be successful in life without having any kind of discipline? The difference between educated people like u and any uncivilized person is this displine only.

Similarly, religion does puts some restriction to make us more discplined and God obeying human, but thats just initial stage for the poor persons who cannot understand sprituality due to many economic, mental and others factors.

But people like you who have got enligtened and got connected with the sprituality in the real sense does not need the support of religion, but religion always demands respect. If you dont respect it what will happen, many people will follow you, even those who have yet to see the first stage of sprituality and what they will create but chaos in this world.

So, Spitituality is no dount a deeper means to a thought process but Religion is also not a lie, dear.

I have my blog in which I am propagating such form of spirituality called

http://imsiva.blogspot.com

If you could spare a mintue for visiting that, you will get many such answer der.

Bye n take care.

Yep. Not even three rings! No announcer, no popcorn, no peanuts; the sound system sucks and the lighting is terrible.

Thought maybe I would change my avatar to a bear, with a muzzle, and see if I can get a response from the Russian Orthodox!

For those without the history, trained bears were circus crowd pleasers in Russia in the good 'ol days.

ps. Gotta take it back about no announcer, Don M is pretty good! I could take the muzzle off the bear and let him have the mundo guy for lunch. If you don't get to close the avatar kinda looks like Tom Hanks playing a mental patient.

Not all persons (believers and non-believers) posting in this Forum are intolerant or hate-mongers. Any reasonable non-believer would be embarrassed by some of the content by like-minded persons. And judging by some of the believer’s written words, some self-professed Christians seem to have wandered away from the “love thy neighbor” reservation. For these self-professed Christians only, I recommend a refresher on the following two verses:
Php 3:18 For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ.
Php 3:19 Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things.

Please don’t make the mistake of extrapolating the behaviors in this Forum by some persons as representative of the populations of believers or non-believers. What you observe herein is a social aberration of the real populations of these groups. It is both interesting yet sad to see how some will behave when hiding behind the anonymity of the computer.

Why persons think that the anonymity of this Forum grants them a license to ignore common social graces bewilders me. I suspect that these persons would be truly ashamed if their parents, husband, wife, children, etc., learned of some of the things they write herein. Clearly they do their loved ones a disservice and dishonor them with such behavior.

I encourage you to keep asking questions in an objective manner. For persons that do this it makes my time well spent. You will sometimes get useful responses. I try to cogently answer questions so structured.

I don't go there often, but I am wondering why some of you go there, but can only criticize the q's and a's on there. If you dislike it so much, don't go there. That sounds pretty simple to me. I can understand wanting to have fun on here and I do when it is appropriate, but when someone askes a serious question, I give a serious answer and if you go to my profile, you will find that out. It ain't 20% for nuttin'.

Religion is a theological survey of ones heart and dependency. Religion is a nationally and worldly form of food that the individual forgot how to eat. There is so much Revenge and Retaliation that the importance of prayer and the belief of a Divine Figure have been lost… Lost to the gratification of self, and the… “I Want” and “I have my rights”

I disagree. The people on this board are very serious and rational. I get nothing but sincere, mature responses everytime I ask a question, and reply to questions with just as much maturity.
Furthermore, poop.
