only 250 to 320 bishops actually participated

The Eastern bishops formed the great majority. Of these, the first rank was held by the three patriarchs: Alexander of Alexandria, Eustathius of Antioch, and Macarius of Jerusalem.

Other remarkable attendees were Eusebius of Nicomedia; Eusebius of Caesarea; Nicholas of Myra; Aristakes of Armenia; Leontius of Caesarea; Jacob of Nisibis, a former hermit; and Spyridion of Trimythous

From foreign places came a Persian bishop John, a Gothic bishop Theophilus and Stratophilus, bishop of Pitiunt in Egrisi

Marcus of Calabria from Italia, Cecilian of Carthage from Africa, Hosius of Córdoba from Hispania, Nicasius of Dijon from Gaul, and Domnus of Stridon

The Divinity of Jesus wasn't decided at the Council. Just clarified.

Cheers :-)

First, my compliments on your well researched run-down on attendees.

To answer your question, not only could such a council "decide the divinity of Yehoshua bin Yosef ," it could decide YOUR divinity, or even MINE! (if it had enough weapons).

As soon as Constantine created Christianity as the official religion of the entire Roman Empire (which, at that time, was seen by its populations as the Whole Wide Word), Christianity became the most heavily armed religion in history.

It follows, therefore, that its leaders (those you have listed above) were regional spiritual dictators, literally!

Peace be with you,

As a Muslim revert that is the problem, how are they better than GOD to decide? That is why aall books should have been included and nothing left out.

Don't you find it interesting all Holidays Christians celebrate were Pagan Holidays so Constatine could more easily convert Pagans to the New Christianity and St. Nick now know as Santa Claus was there as well as Bishop Nicolas...obviously they corrupted the original words so GOD sent the final revelation the Quran to fix the errors.

It's simple. Man decides he wants a religion. Man makes up a religion. What's so hard to understand about that?

People came from around the religious world for one thing. Money with Power right behind.

Did you see God in anything they did? Nope. end.><>

Politics.

Similar to how a handful of people decided the U.S. should invade Iraq, even though millions of people in the U.S. and around the world were against it.

If you know all of this, you also know the answer. The Holy Spirit works in the church in such a way that when all agree, it is seen as the true teaching of Christ.
