Please help settle disagreement in my family. A state marriage is not logical due to specific legal issues which can affect the children from his previous marriage. Thus, the desire is then for a commitment ceremony instead. There is a pastor to perform the ceremony-there will just be no marriage license.

Is a commitment ceremony valid in eyes of God - or only a marriage ceremony with a marriage license from the state?

Does the bible state we must be married in eyes of God AND government. If so, where? If not, where?

As a Christian, I've had other Christians do some pretty creepy crap lately. Is it a sign of the times? How do you deal with hate from other Christians that know YOU are a Christian also? I'm pretty stressed out.

argument to make out that it is a 'BETTER' religion than others.

I repeat 'SOME' people.

If it is the fastest growing one, I doubt very much its because MILLIONS of people are converting to Islam but much more likely due to the fact that this religion tends to be more prevelent in some of the poorer countries of the world where multiple childbirths are common.

PS I've got nothing against moslems.
PPS (apart from the hateful, anti-semitic ones)

What if tonight on 360 we did cartoons of everyone,

muslims christians atheists jews evolution revolution panti-estheism wicca pagan hindu

should we, as a group, make fun of everyone equally,

if only, to illustrate, that we are human, we are absurd in our differences,

and in our laughter,

find a peace, a peace, a common humanity,

what say you

When you have examined ANY religion's beliefs, they ALL are mostly falsehoods and deception, with promises that will NEVER come true...........
so,
why are there so many people who DO believe in ALL the religious falsehoods, lies and deceptions???

Are there that many brain-washed / brain-dead people in humanity today???

Why can't MOST people today comprehend the Truth, instead of religious BS???

Evolution changes its mind (Again)
Science is theory based on evidence. That changes, and changes, and changes, and changes. So, when can we finally call it fact???

I'm a male 23 with a problem concerning God's will for my life. This past summer my church statred a young adults group which holds a Bible study on Sunday nights . We studied the book of Philippians where I felt the right hand of God moving my heart to serve within Central Asia (where I happen to have several friends serving already). My one frined Dinara (from Kyrgyzstan) who is incharge of a summer camp asked if I would be willing to help out with that which would be a good starting point in determaning whether or not God is truly is calling me there. There is 1 problem though, I currently work at my families business and my mom doesn't support or accept such a trip as she claims that would hurt my family (though she is the only one making a big deal out of this) and that the business needs me more. I want to reasure God's calling and the summer camp would be just that, but what should I do about my mom? I don't want to hurt her but I want to fallow Christ whever he may lead me.

While I don't pretend to be able to fit the entire proof in 1000 characters... isn't the following some of the proof?

Evolution is the change in the inherited characteristics, or traits, of a population of organisms. Heritable traits are encoded in the genetic material of an organism (usually DNA); changes in this genetic material (mutation) and the subsequent spread of these changes in the population drives evolution.

Evolution has left numerous signs of the histories of different species. Fossils, along with the comparative anatomy of present-day organisms, constitute the morphological, or anatomical, record. By comparing the anatomies of both modern and extinct species, paleontologists can infer the lineages of those species.

i was brought up as a Christian, but i do not practice it. I never go to church, i never think about God. But when i am going through a bad time i always think i should become more religious. But when i am ok again i dont think about it, the only time i think about it is when im in trouble. I am too rapped up in my own life to bother spending time speaking to God. When i see my mum (who is very religious) she always talks about having a relationship with God and how important it is and how good it is etc. and talks about everything he has done for me. when she does this it always makes me cry for some reason but i never change my ways. what deos this mean? what should i do?
