i mean, we know that islamists can do really horrible things just because of their faith. (wearing 20 bombs around their wraist and make them explode or things like that). I know that these things are horrible and very wrong but what power does islamic religion have that forces people to do such things?
If instead of moving people towards these kind of actions it moved them towards "good" actions it would be the perfect religion.
Islamic religion seems to be a very demanding religion asking its followers to do all kinds of things for their god, and the surprise is that they follow those rules that may seem a bit absurd to others.
What is it in there that is there not in christian faith?

That's right, the founder of the WT, predicted the end of the world in 1914 and that Jesus returned invisibly in 1874 from measuring the passages of the Great Pyramid? Some of his books contained his methods for his discoveries. At his grave there is a big pyramid with a cross on it.

That isn't the only absurd and embarrassing thing that the JW have tried to ignore. Their doctrines have changed so many times. I remember when I was young, my mother keep telling me the end times were just around the corner. A few years ago they changed the prophesy again and said that they don't really know when it is coming. Sad. I hate the WT leaders for deceving and hurting so many people. The child abuse policy and all, it is enraging.

If you JW's don't believe me, you can find it for yourselves. Russells books are available, old WT volumes. You just have to reseach for youself.

A late-afternoon Good Friday crucifixion to an EasterSunday morning resurrection equals one full day. The proper translation of Matthew 28:1 by the Ferrar Fenton translation
correctly renders this verse: "After the Sabbaths [plural], towards the dawn of the day following the Sabbaths [plural], Mary, the Magdalene, & the other Mary, came to examine the tomb." There were, in fact two Sabbaths that particular week. Keep in mind back then, a Holy Day Sabbath could fall on any day of the week. When you translate the plural Greek word sabbaton in Matthew 28:1 its sabbaths. This means on the 3rd day & night He was resurrected before the sunlight of dawn, which puts us back to the actual time of resurrection as being the end of the weekly Sabbath at the time of sunset on Saturday. Our traditions have us celebrating it on a Sunday. Yet there is no mention of Easter in the Bible. WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ON THIS? In any event Jesus is the Messiah and He did rise from the dead after 3 days.

First off, i have NO problems with atheists, so get that out of ur head right now. Whenever someone's asked why they're an atheist, a lot of them say "because i'm not brainwashed by the church"... it's like they think the church is like evil or something, what has the Pope done to you, and the world?... except stand as an idol for peace and love. And please... don't feel obligated to say @sshole crap that u wouldn't say to my face.
.....keep the peace.....

I converted at 14, yes Bet Din, Mikveh and all.

Now I want to renounce my religion. I have not been observant for 3 years and classify my belief as "Agnostic" or "Pagan". I have a 4 month old son that my father is pressuring me to circumcise, and I do not want to be Jewish, do not believe in Judaism or circumcision, and do not want to subject my son to a religion, I would rather let him choose. I know the renouncement is merely a social step not so much a mental or spiritual one, it is for the benefit of others.

Now, How would I go about doing this? Is it even possible? I have heard "once a jew, always a jew" one too many times, I don't think it's right to be trapped in a religion you don't believe in... But anyway, what needs to be done, to un-convert and remove my son from this religion-by-birth thing?

I mean, you can't be born a religion, in my opinion. That's a state of mind, not a race/genetic thing. And since I CONVERTED as a child, I'm not even carrying "genes".
