I was never a member - but they (and their "disciples") were all over Hollywood years ago.

They seemed a little cultish to me.

This really does sound pretty cultish. I'm sure there are well-meaning people there and I don't disagree with some of their views (i.e. watching Harry Potter), but when they are dictating these rules instead of allowing people to make decisions based on their own conscience then it is legalistic. I actually have read some Watchman Nee books and really liked them. I didn't know there was a church primarily focused on his writings. I would recommend reading Romans and Galatians (if you haven't already) and learn what God says about legalism. Legalism kills, but the Spirit of God gives life (2 Cor. 3:6). It's funny because one of the books I read by Watchman Nee was all about the Spirit. It was called Release of the Spirit. That was a really good book. Sounds like these people aren't necessarily following in the path of their spiritual mentor.

I did manage to read most of "The Spiritual Man" By Watchman. It is really a great book for those trying to understand Romans 8 but it is wordy.

That's all I know.

I've read a lot of Watchmen Nee's books, and have learned a great deal from him. I'm not familiar with Witness Lee. Most of the books I read of his would have been 40 years ago.

I did not know there was a Nee church. He was a Chinese preacher, and he wrote several books. One was "Sit, Stand, Walk". I can not remember any others.

No, but I've heard about their "Local Church" movement. They use a translation of the Bible called "The Recovery Version".
