That's right, the founder of the WT, predicted the end of the world in 1914 and that Jesus returned invisibly in 1874 from measuring the passages of the Great Pyramid? Some of his books contained his methods for his discoveries. At his grave there is a big pyramid with a cross on it.
That isn't the only absurd and embarrassing thing that the JW have tried to ignore. Their doctrines have changed so many times. I remember when I was young, my mother keep telling me the end times were just around the corner. A few years ago they changed the prophesy again and said that they don't really know when it is coming. Sad. I hate the WT leaders for deceving and hurting so many people. The child abuse policy and all, it is enraging.
If you JW's don't believe me, you can find it for yourselves. Russells books are available, old WT volumes. You just have to reseach for youself.

Sorry to disappoint you, but this isn't really hidden information. I've known about it since I was about 9.
This is what the Proclaimers book says :"For some 35 years, Pastor Russell thought that the Great Pyramid of Giza was God’s stone witness, corroborating Biblical time periods. (Isa. 19:19) But Jehovah’s Witnesses have abandoned the idea that an Egyptian pyramid has anything to do with true worship. (See “Watchtower” issues of November 15 and December 1, 1928)"
And we have never claimed that C.T. Rusell was infallible. He was a man looking for the truth like so many of us. And he was on the wrong track with this. That fact changes nothing.
Proverbs 4:18 says, "But the path of the righteous ones is like the bright light that is getting lighter and lighter until the day is firmly established."

You are partly correct.
CT Russel dido believe that the great pyramid was in harmony with Bible Chronology. But he did not start it. It was something he had been told by others, when he looked into it the evidence that he was shown seemed sound. Russell was convinced of the evidence that Mr. Barbour presented to him in 1876 so it was not his work . This is seen in this quote from ZIONS Watchtower and Herald of Christ's Presence 15 OCTOBER 1906, 3822.
"I paid Mr. Barbour's expenses to come to see me at Philadelphia (where I had business engagements during the summer of 1876), to show me fully and Scriptural, if he could, that the prophecies indicated 1874 as the date at which the Lord's presence and 'the harvest' began"
A He had already come to a conclusion in regard to 1914 before he was persuaded to believe the pyramid idea. and so the pyramid as backing for Bible chronology

Actually, most witness do have the old books and magazines, as they get passed from one to another as someone passes away. My mother has a complete library.
The difference between witnesses and other religions, is the don't immortalize their founder in picture and print. He was just a man, still acting on many of the common beliefs of the time, but the society has grown beyond that now. Too bad other religions don't follow their lead. In fact, people like you are immortalizing him more than witnesses do. Perhaps if you all got together, you can build a new religion in his image.

I suppose what you're really asking is why have there been changes in the teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses?..The Bible shows that Jehovah enables his servants to understand his purpose in a progressive manner.(Prov.4:18;John 16:12)Thus, the prophets who were divinely inspired to write portions of the Bible did not understand the meaning of everything that they wrote.(Dan.12:8,9;1 Pet.1:10-12)The apostles of Jesus Christ realized that there was much they did not understand in their time.(Acts 1:6,7;1 Cor.13:9-12)The Bible shows that there would be a great increase in knowledge of the truth during "the time of the end."(Dan.12:4)Increased knowledge often requires adjustments to one's thinking.Jehovah's Witnesses are willing humbly to make such adjustments and have done so.

Every Christian will know when Jesus Christ returns. We know we need no other book then the Bible.
Its tells us no man knows the day nor the hour when Jesus will return. We must always be ready.
Always keep your eye on Jesus ,man will always fall short.
I hope you have not been scared by a false religion.
