I don't personally support cloning for the same reason but I have something to say that might not earn me points.
If this paper is for science, then I would not quote the bible because the bible will not be "accepted" as a "scientific reference". HOWEVER ...
If this is for an ethics class, debate class, etc., then the bible would be appropriate.
I can't quote the bible, but I hope this has helped.
Good luck,

"How precious life is"
I wasn't going to answer this question until, I read your last sentence. How can any of us claim that any human life is precious, surly our religious leader and government leader take life for granted . Are all the humans equal in our eyes or did you mean in your life; the circle that you claim as your life; life is precious.
Surly no one that has a belly full, will care if the people living in landfills have a good nights sleep. No I say unto your, we are the wicket, we produce more than we are willing to feed, or religious leaders tell us to have more children, in hopes we can feed then. We don't need cloning we produce way to many unwanted souls now. Being married today only insures us that all of that family will be able to get health insurance from the company we work for. Look in Iraq is that our vision or is that the vision of the leaders. Surly we could do better, but we don't have to because our bellies will be full tonight.

Cloning isn't wrong because its a "child outside of marriage". Its YOU, so how can it be wrong?
No, its wrong because humanity can barely individually accept that their nextdoor neighbour wears black like a goth, never mind that the next door neighbour might be a clone.
Can you imagine the arguments people will start over whether clones are human or not (or even among Christians, whether it has a soul)?
Humanity is not yet socially and mentally ready for cloning.

Another interesting point that deals with cloning is Where do we draw the line?
Why not clone only the smartest and most beautiful...like Hitler's vision of a master race. Why not let the so called "lesser beings" die out and the "exceptional" cloned beings rule and take society to the next level?? Individualism and Equality would just sort of fall apart. So "drawing the line" is a good argument...look at Aldous Huxley's book, Brave New World..where they are cloning people to perform specific funtions in society...almost as if they were breeding dogs to perform specific jobs. Human beings should have a say in their lives...they shouldn't be designed and cloned like some sort of product in a factory.
I think you are very courageous for touting your opinion in such a morally backward society. I commend you. I agree that marriage is the ideal and correct situation to raise a child. In the gospels...Jesus speaks out against Fornication (sex outside marriage); I am not sure of the precise location in the Gospels. You should explain that from a religious perspective, having a child out of wedlock is wrong.....particularly in your case-I am guessing Christianity. It's a Christian belief. Many people have kids out of wedlock, which I don't think is such a great idea. I think Cloning is sort of "Playing God" and messing with nature. It's unnatural, as someone else said.
I see your point...from a Christian moral standpoint, reproduction should be done within marriage naturally between a man and a woman.
Stagger
Two thumbs down for giving my opinion?
I can take the persecution.
Crucify me if you must.

You are doing a bad paper cloning is not wrong it is just illegal in some countries. legality is all that makes it wrong. Where would I be if someone hadn't cloned a Banana Snake.

how about go fourth and multiply. People are made between the union of a man and a woman, not a test tube and an eye dropper. Cloning is just man playing god.

So far you are backing up your argument with an ethical premise that many people don't even believe in. Your logic could use some work.
