I'm not ungrateful for what Jesus did for us, nonetheless, it's like you look out your window and your neighbour has mowed your lawn for you. Sure it's great, but you didn't ask him to do it and now, like it or not you're in his debt. Worse, now he's making your life difficult on the strength of this debt, coming over, eating your stuff etc... Worse yet, you then remember that not only did you not want him to mow your lawn, you didn't even want a lawn in the first place! That's how life is; we didn't ask to be here, we didn't ask to be indebted to someone for it, we didn't ask to be guilted into accepting difficult situations.
