I will tell you now, "because the Bible says so" answers wont be taken too seriously. The whole point in asking this question is to find out...beyond the Bible, why do people believe that Jesus was the son of God. thank you.

I do not recall anytime that one who claimed to be the son of God, healed so many and was prophesized to experience and endure what Christ did. although I heard David Koresh could whip up a storm of lies.

Christianity is based on belief in Gods written word to humanity. Thats why the Bible is used even in theological studies and for those who attend and teach in seminaries. Believers also have their personal relationship & experiences to add as well. This definitely includes me, my family & friends <>< <><

I cannot explain my reasons to you. The feelings come from inside me. I know...in my heart, that Jesus is the Savior and the Son of God. I believe he is my brother and that once I lived with him in Heaven before I was born on earth.

I believed in him even when I didn't believe in the religion I had been raised with. My belief in him as the Son of God is the one constant that has always stayed with me. I wish I could convey it better to you.

It is more of a spiritual matter.
What has taken place inside of me is proof sufficient for me.

Edit-*sigh* I don't know exactly how to answer that.I had an experience,I guess you could call it a "feeling",that proved to me what He was. It isn't something that you would understand without experiencing it yourself.
I trust my heart,as delusional and screwed up everyone deems it to be.

I believe that Jesus is God. I believe this because of the testimony of the eye witnesses who were there with Jesus during His public life. I believe because of the witness of thousands of early Christians who endured torture and death because they believed in Jesus. I believe because of the appearances of Jesus and Mary that have taken place since His resurrection. I believe because of my mother who had a great devotion to Blessed Mary, said on her death bed, "She is beautiful!"

notice the lac of immediate response. there is no basis if the "bible says so" doesn't work. same goes for most of their responses to tough questions.
