does jesus actually pay your bills? when you work, you actually support yourself and jesus gets all of the credit. I am sorry but I refuse to give someone the credit when I have earned it myself.

It's superstitious nonsense. People are grasping at straws to bolster their wishful thinking, i.e. faith. When they attribute good things to Jesus and bad things to the devil, it justifies their belief in their minds.

Jesus gives me my health so that I can work at a paying job in order to pay my bills. Jesus keeps bad weather from ruining my house and my place of work so that I can continue to work and pay my bills. Jesus blesses the farmers with good crops to sell to me so that I can eat and have the strength to go to work in order to pay my bills. Jesus is the Lord God, and provides everything to everyone. Even those who refuse to believe in Him.

According to the Bible, Jesus is the co-Creator of the universe. He gave you the hands and eyes and feet and mouth and all you are and all you use every day to earn your living. He even gave you the tongue that you are free to use to blaspheme Him if you wish.
However realize now that whatever you have is on loan, and depending how you use what you have will determine what comes next, because God has also appointed Him to judge the world. So find Him today as SAvior, or you will face Him tomorrow as Judge, and He is as strict in judgment as He is merciful in salvation.

Actually, believe it or not, He has paid a couple of my bills. I didn't have money for my school books and He had someone pay for them for me. At the moment I don't have a permanent job so I thank Him for every opportunity He gives me to be able to work and earn money. I wouldn't have any work without His help.

And Bob....I'm about as white as you can get without being a piece of paper.

I like what Yummygood said. You wouldn't have your job if Jesus hadn't blessed you with it. Every good thing comes from Jesus and it is good to thank him for all that he has done. Nothing belongs to you, God has given you everything you have, and he can take it back in a split second if he feels necessary to do so. You haven't honestly earned anything, because you can't do enough good to out weigh the bad, no human can except Jesus. Jesus came to die for us so we wouldn't have to earn our way into heaven, no one could possibly earn their way in alone. Thanks for reading, God bless.

As momma used to say. You don't get anything in this world that somebody else didn't pay for. Think about it.

As to being thankfull. It is being thankfull for the opportunity to feed your face, not cook your meal. If somebody else is cooking be thankfull for that. Oh, it is kinda hard to pay your bills if you have no spiritual power to draw your next breath. See we live and move and have our being in Him.

I am thankfull that you are working, able and willing to pay your bills. Not everyone is you know. Being thankfull pays forward. Unthankfull usually ends up turning sour or living unholy.

I know it's weird. The other day I was watching this show on National Geographic about north korea. There was a doctor who went there on a humanitarian mission to perform eye surgery to correct cataracts. He wound up helping over 1,000 people and when he was done all of the north koreans thanked kim jong il for everything, even though he had nothing to do with it. That's what your question reminded me of.

Becuase when you think of milk it comes from a cow and god helped that cow get through to make milk. When you are having thouse hard days at work you hear a child laugh and that helps you get through. Well God is there in that child's laughter! Sometimes God might not help you in the most obious way but he's always there.

Creator and creation relationship. If a man invents something, he is forever hailed as the great inventor of that useful (or destructive thing).

God gave you a soul, with the ABILITY to earn things, so why not say "thanks God!"? Plus, it can be seen as a humility thing. If you credit yourself all the time and disrespect God, you get full of yourself. Desirable trait? I don't think so...

and what's wrong with paying tithes? so you give 10%. I fail to see what's wrong with helping someone financially. Plus, He promised if you were a faithful tither, you'd get it back many times over...

Because Jesus paid the biggest bill one could ever imagine. He paid it for any and all people who believe on His name.

You can not control if you will be alive two minutes from now. Unless you can do that you have no power for which to take credit.
