i have an evangelical teacher. he's retired now, but we still get to talking now and then. he gave me a book written by an EXTREME evangelical. he said i could learn from it.
in the book, the author bashes eastern people, promotes killing cultures, and PRAYING for people's misery so they will be more susceptible to cry out and ask for god. but what bugged me the most was the author's constant mention of how metephysics is the work of the devil. im very much into that kinda stuff, my teacher doesnt know. i even had a dream about my teacher. he told me he was my spirit guide-a character associated with astral beliefs! & then, just last week, i met up with my teacher and he told me, "dont believe the lies." and i didnt even say anything to provoke him to say THAT.
who should i believe? myself: who glorifies the human species, into AP, and has an open mind, or the evangelicals- closed minded, lets credit EVERYTHING to GOD, meanies? seems like im getting intervention from both sides.

Why do Catholics confess to a priest? When the Bible clearly tells us that we can call on the name of Jesus. 1 John 1:9 says, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Also in 1 John 2:1, "My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have ONE who speaks to the Father in our defense - Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. Our confession should be to Jesus, not to a Priest who will go to Jesus for us......

My point is : Isn't it still true that if you are a bad guy, you will not go to heaven even if you read the Bible and pray every day ? Each and every Christian can go to heaven ? If so, it doesn't sounds like a religion anymore. It sounds like a TV commercial. This is not a joke. Serious answers only please. Thank you in advance. btw I am a person who has read the Bible, but I can understand the New Testament only, not the whole book, and I don't believe I have fully understood the concept of heaven. Jesus didn't talk much about heaven.

Every time i make the climb to be a good boy and fall into line somthing always pulls me away from what is right and god fearing. Is there a point where there no turning back and people void you out. Am i lost and dose anyone need saving if they live a fufilling existence. The straw that broke the camels back needs to know

My kids are rude, condescending and disrespectful. They mainly speak to me to get something but otherwise they "don't want to deal with me". This behavior did not begin at my husband's passing but it has gotten worse. I am a God-fearing person and The Lord has given me so many miracles throughout my life that I know that He is. Ever since I was a 9 year old kid, I felt more love from Jesus than anyone around me and at 49, I feel His love more strongly but my kids even less. God wants us to have patience, love and tolerance and I have forgiven and "caved in" to try to make them happy especially now that they only have one parent but things are getting worse. Even though I know that God is here, I feel very alone and extremely sad that my own children do not seem to care about me and respect me. I am not a weak person and I set an example of respect and caring and sharing but it feels like it has not been for anything. Please advise!

im trying to adopt a healthier lifestyle.. this includes changing what foods i eat. i told myself that from now on, im going to cook my own food.
recently, safeway came out with outrageous deals.. my dad is obsessed with safeway! AND he's obsessed with the deals! so, over the past 3 days he has been stocking up our feezers! we have 3! 2 free standing freezers and on attatched to our fridge!
NOW i CANT cook my own food! i HAVE to eat the safeway frozen foods! i feel that the devil has put this road block in my way to screw with my plans! or could it be god? im trying to get a little healthier for the navy... could god not want me to join? did HE make safeway come out with the super deals?
what should i do?! it'll take me .. probably 2 months just to finish all the crap my dad bought this week! and we still have safeway products in the freezers from a year ago!

Wouldn't you be considered insane for believing in anything else you couldn't see or hear? If you don't believe it's insane, do you think people that believe in ghosts and other things that can't be seen or heard are insane?
