i have an evangelical teacher. he's retired now, but we still get to talking now and then. he gave me a book written by an EXTREME evangelical. he said i could learn from it.
in the book, the author bashes eastern people, promotes killing cultures, and PRAYING for people's misery so they will be more susceptible to cry out and ask for god. but what bugged me the most was the author's constant mention of how metephysics is the work of the devil. im very much into that kinda stuff, my teacher doesnt know. i even had a dream about my teacher. he told me he was my spirit guide-a character associated with astral beliefs! & then, just last week, i met up with my teacher and he told me, "dont believe the lies." and i didnt even say anything to provoke him to say THAT.
who should i believe? myself: who glorifies the human species, into AP, and has an open mind, or the evangelicals- closed minded, lets credit EVERYTHING to GOD, meanies? seems like im getting intervention from both sides.

Let's be honest and realistic!

First of all anyone that promotes killing cultures means exactly what? There are many references in history to people that promoted killing cultures. The most infamous of all time is Hitler! The culture Hitler promoted killing was the Jews!
Anyone that buys into this type of thinking is VERY SICK! If you are even temped by someone that pushes such crap then you need mental help!

As for the rest of this nonsense let's be realistic. You have been conditioned to thinking that there is a God, devil, angels, demons and that all of these being that are said to exist on a higher level of consciousness have nothing better to do then to obsess on our little lives and choices we make! Doesn't this seem just a bit insane to you? If it doesn't then you are truely blinded by the delusions of religion.

Everything you experience is the result of the choices and actions YOU MAKE! Take responcibility for your choices and the consequences they bring and stop looking for mystrical crap to give your life meaning. This mysitical crap is nothing but nonsense!

well, i don't agree with praying for other people to have misery. maybe praying that they will find their way to God, but definitely not their misery. you need to find what's ok with YOU. i don't agree wtih those things. i'm a christian woman who was brought up in the very open minded episcopal church. i feel that we should accept people for what and who they are because none of us are with out sin. there are many passages about not judging one another in the bible. also there are many about loving one another and helping one another. i also feel that you should credit everything to God at the root of it because God made all things that are happening possible (including man made things) if he didn't create each one of us those things wouldn't have been possible. but remember there is evil in this world and some people get hung up in it and unfortunately they infect others with their hate. best of luck. just keep praying about it. decide what it is YOU believe. i always found the best book you can benefit from is the Bible!

Why settle? Anyone can tell you what they believe and tell you to believe it. Does that make them right? Will that make you right if you're led astray by a false teaching, but believe it whole heartedly? Look the stuff up yourself. What does the Bible say? Did Christ teach to condemn your enemy? NO! He said "Love your enemy, and pray FOR those who persecute you."

God isn't DOING this to you, he's allowing you to be tested so you can find the answers yourself. If you were never brought into these situations, how will you be prepared for them later on? Guard yourself with what the Bible teaches, and don't wander aimlessly into doctrine. Let the Bible guide you. Remember to ask your teacher for scriptural references, and don't be afraid to ask him about scripture that contradicts what he says. If his beliefs don't line up with the Bible, then it's your teacher's word against God's.

Believe in yourself, and the goodness in your self.
With your open-minded attitude , you can achieve MUCH more in this world than close-minded evangelicals who propagate narrow-minded thinking which is restrictive.

Believe the Bible--it is God's letter to us all. He tells us everything we need to know and makes it simple to understand. Pray for his holy spirit to guide you and you will do well.
