Recently, James Cameron made the controversial claim that he found the tomb of Jesus Christ, as well as that of his immediate family. Let us put aside for now the debate on whether that is true or not--such is not my intent. I ask now a rhetorical question which this intriguing concept has sparked.

Assuming that it was somehow proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jesus Christ was not ressurected, and instead died a natural death, what would the modern-day repercussions to the world's major religions be? (Obviously Christianity would be at the epicenter of such a blast, but it would have ramifications beyond this religion as well.)

I've gotten some beauties over the past month, "good" christians saying things a sailor from Rotterdam wouldn't come up with.

Is this showing me the love of God? Because I could get used to it.

christianity is based on the bible which was written by a bunch of peasent farmers who wondered why their crops got eaten or failed etc. In the years since man has increased his knowledge by building on the knowledge of those before. As a result we are smarter now than before. We have some of the best minds come up with a theory why we are here yet still you believe the peasant farmers. I am not insulting them but it is a fact that we are now smarter than before. So why believe them over the much more intelligent people today?

going to the country side for a person who suffers from stress/depression or other such problems, do you think that it would work better, and benifit the person more in the long term to be helped by getting away from the bussy, modern city life for a while, to heal? I have always thought that being close to nature for even just a little while has a very big effect on humans....after all, we are part of nature aswell.

There's too much wisdom in the bible that no man with his own human mind could write so much wisdom!!

The bible is a book that tells us what is good and what is bad!! and that's why people don't like the Bible because they want to keep doing whatever they like!

Sorry but how can the bible be inspired by men!! that's never possible!! the bible explain that All men are sinners!! So how can a man full of sins is going to be able to write the bible! No

The bible is the most Controversial book of all history!! you can't say no!! and you know why - because is God's Word!!

God selected men to write his word, in different times and seasons, and these people were inspired by the Holy Spirit!!

by saying that the bible is a man made book ,It's like saying clouds are man made!! or animals are man made!!
sorry but the bible contains so much wisdom and teaching we could learn to be better people!!

It does not have to be the only one, but the most important to have /gain. If you have more than one, thats ok aswell. (Eg: qualities such as wisdom, for example)

What does America stand for?

Did you know that you do not have to wait to be converted by someone (thus avoiding preaching, threats of holy hell, etc.)? Not everyone is struck my lightening or converts at some church tent meeting in order to find God. You can decide on your own to go on a spiritual journey...not even in search of God if you choose not to. You can CHOOSE to believe in God, even in the face of overwhelming doubt and ridicule. Think of the stories we have heard of the American Indians who went out to find their spirit. You can do this as well.

Better than spending the next 20 years arguing about God on the computer. God bless you all. Goodbye.
Grace and Peace

of the Da'wah by going out and distributing the magazines, most specifically, the Universal Challenge issue? According to a flier I was given by one of my taxi passengers, the Islamic Comparative Academy has set a target of getting 250,000 copies a year out to non-Muslims, along with a copy of the Qur'an.

This program looks a lot like the evangelical work done by JWs, though I don’t know what would be the proper term for it in Islam.

I study religious philosophy so I should probably know this lol, but Islam has always interested me, and it would be great to have a first hand account.
Thankyou

I am not trying to be stupid or insensitive. I really want to know. There are so many Catholics around me that aren't eating meat on Fridays, but none of them can tell me why.

Are these wacko's trying to insult religion by saying "Let's see how stupid of an idea we can come up with that people will still believe"?

Do they not remember that their creator, a SCIENCE FICTION writer, was once quoted as saying:

"I am tired of getting paid a penny a word for writing fiction. I want to make up a religion and become a millionaire"

Or are they really just stupid enough to think the world was created by aliens from another galaxy?

after all, god forbid adam and eve to eat of the tree of knowledge. they always walk around with their biased opinions of life, and never give into researching anything else. even at the christian schools i went to it was frowned upon to ask questions about the validity of the bible.

do you think the term, "ignorance is a bliss" somewhat defines christianity?

The Bible says that Jesus loves you, takes care of you, listens to all your prayers, and is your strength during hard times. Doesn't that make a great imaginary friend? And this is why certain ignorant people believe in him?

do any of you read the article or anything? or do you immediatly dismiss it without reading it?

u ask how they were identified, in the article, it says the names were written in the tomb. a minimal chance of all those names coming up were like 1 in 600...

second, the dna they "matched" was the dna from one casket to another to see if they were blood related.

i dont care if u believe it or not, but dont bash on it without researching it. im skeptical too... but that doesnt mean to go out and throw stupid arguments because u didnt research it.

and is this taking his name in vain?

I will probably get my account deleted for this but in essence it is no different to all the christians asking if atheists say "bless you" "god damn" "oh my god" and so on.

Why is this a recurring question? It is completely inane. In many ways it is worse than the wager. I like LJ2.0's answer: "Do you not say thursday because you don't believe in Thor?". Brilliant.
