after all, god forbid adam and eve to eat of the tree of knowledge. they always walk around with their biased opinions of life, and never give into researching anything else. even at the christian schools i went to it was frowned upon to ask questions about the validity of the bible.

do you think the term, "ignorance is a bliss" somewhat defines christianity?

I think that could be said for a lot of beliefs, but I have to admit, it is prevalent in christianity.

I would say "yes" in the sense the Christianity teaches loving God/Jesus through faith, which is not based on evidence. Essentially, I would assume this means that it is better to love God with no tangible support than the seek out support and validate your love. Does that make sense?

I'm agnostic and yes I think that "ignorance is bliss" is a great catch phrase for Christianity...or any other religion. But, I don't think of "ignorance" as a negative word in this sense.

I research all I can of the bible and other religions and science that ties into the bible. Especially human origins. You're right. Some Christians just believe everything pastor tells thems. They will be deceived because we have an obligation before God to do our own homework. I don't know what "Christian" school you're talking about but if they told you that then they weren't Christian. The bible will stand any test and usually if you dig, you'll find it doesn't disprove science, it proves it.

You are mistaken. God wants you to be wise. The bible says, the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. Actually, God wanted Adam and Eve to eat the fruit of life first before they plucked the fruit of the tree of knowledge. The Devil was jealous of the humans to be even clever than him, so he quickly hijacked Eve to eat the wrong fruit first. However, don't lose hope, in Jesus you will be able to eat the fruit of life when you have faith in Him. you have the wisdom plus everlasting life in heaven. How can this be 'ignorance'? See how wise are the Christians?

I wonder how much research you did to come to that conclusion. I see that you are level 6, and that's what you came up with?

Perhaps ignorance plays a part on both sides. So is it blissful for you?

I am in love with Jesus. I have my unfaithful moments but it is never because I do not believe that the Bible is God's life manual for us. I believe Jesus is the way and the truth. Christianity is not a religion, it is a relationship with God. Many time that relationship sucks, but only from our end. : )

True ignorance comes not from asking questions, but from not being WELCOMED to ask them. God can stand up to scrutiny from you, Honey!!

Arrogance is also a form of misguided ignorance...something to think about.....
