I'm one myself and would assure you that they DO engage in a bit of door-knocking and standing on street corners dishing out leaflets, along with myriad other forms of out-reach. If lots of people would not object to home visits, however, I could spur my congregation on with that fact. Yet I suspect that the door-knocking market has been cornered by JWs and Mormons, and Christians don't want to be mistaken for them! They'd spend most of their time assuring suspicious house-holders that they were NOT JWs or Mormons, I guess. They also believe that if people want to hear a sermon, they would go to church. Do you think it's a good, or a bad thing that they respect the public's privacy and don't overtly try to prosyletise? Of course, my question applies to all and every Christian denomination, not just Presbyterians. Feel free to cast this net as wide as you like!
