Hi Antonia, this is a great effort on your part and will give other young people a boost and maybe they to will join with you, it is a good and noble thing to fast from luxuries during Lent and it shows solidarity with Christ, who often went without food.
I am so glad to hear that you will be praying the Holy Rosary too during Lent but be on your guard as the evil one hates this devotion and he will try to use others to knock your confidence in this, be fearless and have courage and God Who sees all that you do in private will reward you.

P.S, I too will be doing some fasting and praying the Rosary during Lent, and after Easter I will hopefully continue to pray the Rosary,,,God bless you.

Praying the Rosary everyday will be a great source of graces to you. Try to say it everyday and dont forget to ask Our Lady for graces while saying it. As for me, Im going to try and avoid snacking between meals and avoid watching tv. Im also going to spend more time in prayer which is the daily Rosary (without fail) and the Seven Sorrows of Our Lady devotion. I will try and meditate on at least one sorrow of Our Mother daily. I will also try to do the Stations of the Cross every Friday.Hope I can do it. Thanks and God bless!

I'm not religious, but I think Lent is a wonderful opportunity to discipline oneself. It's important to prove to ourselves now and then of what we're capable. Of course, I realize there's more to Lent for the religious. It's a time of rededication and soul-searching. Those are very positive things, too. Anyway, best of success. May your Lent experience be very rewarding.

Inspired by my religious friends and neighbors, I have given up fried foods, snacks, and all soft drinks.

What are the First three Commandments? What are you thinking?
What did Jesus say at Matt. 9:13 and Matt. 12: 7?

I am doing one self-less act a day as well as donating blood and my hair to Locks of Love. I am trying to do more good things that self-sacrifice. That means more to others, I think.

Jesus paid the price on the cross for my sins and as he said it is finished...besides I do not want to pervert his death on the cross with self-centered actions as skipping dinner or waste my time with repetitive prayers.

To really submit to God lets try and substain from sin and submit to daily Bible reading and prayer...that is a sign of true personal and spiritual commitment.

I always snack after dinner so that is a good one. I am giving up soda...I know, it won't be hard but it is something at least.
