I have heard of children refering to when they were "old" and even the opposite sex... is this proof of reincarnation??

Even when something small like a light-bulb dies it seems to flare up right before it pops and it leaves an after-image on the retina, something as big as religion has been will take about another hundred years to die off completely because people still haven't realised it's over yet, we are presently seeing religions dying flare-up before it dies altogether at the moment.

Muslims who defend practices like flogging, stoning, and the execution of apostates don't strike me as idiots. They just strike me as people who really do believe what they're saying, people who have been taught that things we in the modern world consider barbaric and uncivilized are actually normal and acceptable through a powerful socialization radically different from our own. How can we enlighten peaceful Muslims and show them that although we mean them no disrespect, we find their beliefs by all means completely unacceptable, for good reasons?

It seems like it would reduce the amount of pedophiles in the priesthood. It's not Biblical anyway to require that priests be single.

I read that pedophiles will have boys to have sex with in paradise and homosexuals will have other gay people to have sex with. Is this true?

Evolution is so obvious why would anyone doubt it? The only constant is change. Just look at your life and even a picture of you 10 years ago.

It seems I am in a minority (being both a Christian and a biologist!). So I thought that I would explore the other aspects of science which some/lots/most Christians might have trouble with. Quantum Theory (QT) throws a few wobblies I think.

One example: A cat (Schroedingers cat) is in a box. When you open the box is the cat alive or dead? QT states that the cat is neither alive nor dead until you open the box. It is the act of opening the box that forces the universe to decide if the cat will be alive or not!

Another piece of QT is that information moves faster than light! Yet another one is that there are an infinite number of universes and therefore an infinite number of each of us! A very recent QT experiment slowed a photon down to a dead halt, then transferred it to anothrer molecule where it picked up speed (186 000mps) and continued on a new course.

The problem I have with quantum theory, is that it actually seems to work. What's the Creationist take on this?

God did not actually say homosexuality was wrong since he did not write the Bible...so what's all the guilt and fear about?

Executions, adortions, wars, euthanasia: these are happening all over the world. Religiously, we know its wrong, its sinful, its murder, its never justifible yet we do it anyway. God is not asleep. We are going to have to answer. What are you going to do about it?

Does anyone know of any good Bible video story series animated or live action. I am looking for myself and also for my son, nieces and nephews. I am a more visual person myself and I find that I retain information more easly if it is translated through performance I even remember scripture better if I can equate it visually. I am a Christian and Baptist denomination so any suggestions on the best series for me would be wonderful! Hugs and Prayers

What does the word truth mean?

2007-02-19 06:29:47 · 16 answers · asked by Sara 5

I have noticed that so far, unless I'm mistaken, God has never answered amputees' parayers. Or if he does answer their prayers, he won't ever answer the ones about them getting their arms back.

Since God is all-powerful this is very puzzling to me.

I have heard from some who replied to an earlier question, that God desn't exist. I don't like that reply, so I'm begging you people who have good connections with God to pray to him and ask him to please please answer amputees' prayers.
Thank you.

Are there any forums of Ex-religious people?

2007-02-19 06:25:15 · 9 answers · asked by msp599 1

I really need the answers to the following questions, it would be very very helpful:

1) Are there any ceremonies before building up to the wedding?

2) Is there a dowry? If so, why?

3) Where do they get married? Is it considered important?

4) Is a Buddhist wedding seen more as a legal ceremony or a religious ceremony?

5) Are there any ceremonies after the wedding?

6) What happens if things go wrong? Is divorce allowed? Is remarriage allowed?

Thank you very much.

We were discussing this in Sunday School yesterday. People said, "Baptisim", "Accepting Christ as your personal Lord and Savior", "Following His (Christ's) teachings", etc. Our teacher said yes, but there's more. I mentioned there must be a change of heart.
What do you think is required to be born again? Can you add to the list?
