Not my understanding of that, and I have read the Bible from cover to cover.

Our first command is to procreate. Sex feels good because that is what we are supposed to do. But the lessons of the Bible also say that sex is for intimacy and developing and strengthening the relationship with your wife or husband, which is why again, sex is so good.

Not just to have offspring. I have never attended a church that taught you should only have sex to have children.

Like Doug says, "Read the Song of Solomon."

Who said sex was only for 'pro-creation'? Sex was created for pleasure for both parties.
The problem occurs when Sex is taken to the extreme and abused. Sex is more mental and emotional than physical. Which is why we teach kids to hold off from having it. They don't have the capacity to understands its depth. True, pregnancy is result from sex. That's all the more reason to teach kids to abstain from sex until they are ready.
Sex was meant for more that pro-creation. The physical pleasure can't be overlooked. Thank God for it.

The Bible doesn't say that sex is ONLY for procreation! God created sex and the sex drive. There is nothing sinful about sex in and of itself. It is a good thing when it is practiced within marriage.

God made sex feel pleasurable so that we can keep having babies and continue the human race. God made sex in the first place so that we can 1) keep having babies, and 2) enjoy with our spouses.

The reason God did that is unknown to any man or woman alive! What is known to all sane men and women alive is that "it feels goooooood". At times, one is willing to give up the ghost just to experience that good feeling. Tha type that make you numb and count the lines in your ceiling when you are done!

God gave us this sex drive as a gift. What a great gift eh?
We can have sex for pure pleasure/lust with our spouses. Not just for procreation. That is a roman catholic thing.

It's not just for pro-creation (that's one reason, but not the only one) it's also for fun and intensifying the bond between married couples.

He needed something to bait us into having babies. If sex wasn't pleasurable, birth rates worldwide would drop exponentially.
