I want proof :) What "over whelming" proof is there of evolution, that all of you speak of?

I want to hear it, because its a theory, and NOT proven, so why are all of you claiming it is?

Fastest-growing religion

The second-largest religion in the world after Christianity, Islam is also the fastest-growing religion. In the United States, for example, nearly 80 percent of the more than 1,200 mosques have been built in the past 12 years.

Some scholars see an emerging Muslim renaissance as Islam takes root in many traditionally Christian communities.

Islam has drawn converts from all walks of life, most notably African-Americans. Former NAACP President Benjamin Chavis, who joined the Nation of Islam recently, personifies the trend.

"In societies where you have minorities that are discriminated against, I think they may find an appeal in Islam," said Waleed Kazziha of American University in Cairo.

Many moderate Islamic countries such as Turkey and Egypt are becoming more conservative.

Two decades ago, few middle-class Egyptian women wore scarves or veils on their heads. Now they crowd into special emporiums that advertise Islamic clothing.

The shift toward Islamic fundamentalism worries many in the secular world, a fear underscored when splinter groups target Westerners with violent attacks.

I'm looking specifically for a church with a good young adult minstry. I'm 20, and just moved to the area. I was pretty involved in my church back home, and I'm wanted to get involved here as well. I'm just not sure where to start...

Look at passages:
Romans 1 - God, his attributes, qualities revealed to ALL the earth
Psalm 19 - Nature shows Glory of God
Ecc 3:11 - Eternity set in the hearts of man

The word of God includes the truth about Jesus; even before Jesus was here, God gave the PROMISE of him to people in the OT. They were saved THROUGH CHRIST, by believing God, even before the coming of Jesus.

Even if people have no access to the Bible or the Gospel (Good news that Jesus, the messiah, has ALREADY come, who he is and what he accomplished), they DO have access to God's word via their HEARTS and NATURE.

If they believe God's word, and the promise of the messiah, they can be called "God's people," saved, and going to heaven, because they WOULD HAVE accepted Christ if the news reached them.

So no more question of "what happens to people in the jungle who haven't heard?" The truth is, many of them already know God, and are saved through Christ?

If you say that you will not do something in the name of Jesus but you do anyway, is that a sin or would that be lieing to our saviour? The reason I'm asking is because someone who comes to this site very often said that he would not do something in the name of Jesus but he did anyway

How does the Qur'an describe God in terms of qualities and actions?
asked on 3/7/2003 1:32:46 AM

Answer: “He is the Lord, the Creator, the Inventor of all things, the Bestower of forms. To Him belong the Best Names. All that are in the heavens and the earth glorify Him and He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.” (59:24)

The Qur'an describes God's attributes and confirms His names and His qualities:

1) God is one and only, eternal and absolute,

"Say: He is God, the One and Only; God, the Eternal, Absolute…." (112:1-2)

2) Nothing is like Him. He is the Creator, not created, nor a part of His creation. "There is nothing like Him and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer" (42:11)

3) God has no limits of ability,

" Originator of the heavens and the earth. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, "Be," and it is." (2:117)

"And of His signs is that you see the earth stilled, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and grows. Indeed, He who has given it life is the Giver of Life to the dead. Indeed, He is over all things competent." (41:39)

4) He is All-Powerful, absolutely Just. He was when nothing was, and will be when nothing else remains. He is All Merciful, the Supreme, the Sovereign.

"Allah – there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His chair extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great." (2:255)

6) It is only He Who is capable of granting life to anything:

"There is no deity except Him; He gives life and causes death. [He is] your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers." (44:8)

7) He is First, Last, and Everlasting who has full knowledge of everything: "He is the First and the Last, the Evident and the Immanent: and He has full knowledge of all things." (57:3)

"He knows that which deceives the eyes and what the breasts conceal." (41:19)

"[He is] the Exalted above [all] degrees, Owner of the Throne; He places the inspiration of His command [i.e., revelation] upon whom He wills of His servants to warn of the Day of Meeting." (40:15)

"He is God, there is no god but He, the Knower of the Unseen and the Visible. He is the Most Gracious, Most Merciful. He is God, there is no God but He, the King, the Holy One, the Source of Peace, the Keeper of Faith, the Guardian, the Almighty, the Subduer, the Sublime. Glory be to God above what they associate with Him. He is God, the Creator, the Maker, the Shaper. His are the most beautiful Names. All that is in the heavens and the Earth glorifies Him. He is the Almighty, the Wise" (59:22-4).

I am curious how many of you also reject that the earth moves around the sun and rotates on its axis. See, I found this site http://www.fixedearth.com/ and it made me wonder how many people think the earth rotating around the sun is still a "theory". Are these often tandem beliefs? (i.e. if you reject evolution, you also reject that the earth moves around the sun?)

That website just seemed really messed up to me because I thought we settled the whole Copernicus was right thing. And I'm curious what you guys think.

In Judges 19 a father gives his daughter be gang raped so that the people in his town will not rape his company, and she ends up dying for this. So he cuts her body into twelve pieces and sends it to the twelve tribes. Why would a God fearing man give young virgin daughter to be gang rapped? Why does this seem to be a common practice in the Scriptures Ex: Gen 19? Is it ok for Jewish and Christian Fahters to offer their daughters to be raped under certain circumstances?
