all through the New Testament, it talks about praying in tongues. One in a way that evangelizes by supernaturally speaking another language or native tongue and another through the "Spirit". Pentecostal religions or Christian groups that are charismatic are the fastest growing religions in the world now surpassing Islam (who only grow through having a lot of kids. Even Catholics are starting to have a charismatic movement. Do you pray in tongues either in church or in the course of personal prayer?

I do not mean to sound insensitive or unwilling to fulfill a requirement. That being said, I have a school assignment. I am supposed to attend a worship service, but in order to meet this requirement I must travel about 90 miles. Can someone help me with a description of a worship service. A link would be a plus.

First one with a good link and description gets the points. I am desperate, people.

Thank you in advance.

This ALL LOVING entity called God is placing one Hell-of-a burden upon me by stating that I need to listen to the men that wrote the Bible and to follow their word because he told them how to get to heaven and so I can only get there if I follow them and bare witness to their testimony and believe with faith that what they are telling me is The Truth-The Whole Truth And Nothing but The Truth!-Yet I have seen countless preachers and ministers that have used their positions of authority to rape and molest children, take from The Bible what they deam relavent and try to pursuade their accusers of their innosence. My God, why would you create me to have to be lead by this miserabl;e creation you call sinners to try and get into this paradise you call Heaven? I believe that I am being lied and cheated and you are allowing it you bast!

I mean, how it will end. Not when. I know that it doesn't say when it will end, and only God knows. But what does it say about HOW it ends?

I think the opposite, religion discourages free thought of any kind.

I know agnostic is when someone is undecided but what is it when someone has no religion? I thought atheism but they have such a bad name and reputation. I have no religion but I'm not against religion. In some cases, I support religion because it gives weak people ethics and morals to go by. (not everyone though)

Does anyone else think drinking the blood of Christ and eating his flesh (even if figurative) is just creepy and gross? And for those of you who go to Catholic churches where people drink out of the same cup - do you ever get grossed out thinking about backwash?

(This isn't meant to put down any practices, and for the record I've always thought it was gross even since I was a small child, raised Christian.)

A person dies and goes to hell. Before they were in hell God loved them, because God loves everyone. Now that they are in Hell, does God still Love them? If so, how does he show his love? If not, why does he no longer love them, and how can he still be all loving?

I only want to know about God’s love for people in hell, not His love for them before they die. Please answer MY QUESTIONS. One of my biggest frustrations with Y/A is that when people reply and their responses have little to do with the questions asked.

That's always been confusing to me. A bunch of people say that Jesus is God. And then a bunch others say that Jesus is God's son. Which is it?

I'm some sort of a non-theist, and I find myself mostly tolerant of religions and religious people with the exception of most sects of Christianity, which I feel are constantly being shoved down my throat. I was wondering if any other free thinkers had similar experiences with any particular religion and if you might be willing to share? Or am I all alone in this?

I will be getting married before August this year. I am a converted Muslim. I heard and read somewhere that there is no compulsion for Muslim women to change their last name after marriage. Kids get father's, if not family name.

I need to be sure first, as I'd like to keep my name.

Kindly educate me with authentic sources.

Thanks.

What was surprising about it?

Did you have stereotypes about people of that faith? Did this person change your perception of that faith, or do you feel he/she was an exception?

I have this question:

Did God ever get mad in the bible? I mean, did the bible say that God ever get mad for some reason? If he did, can you tell me where I can find where I can look it up in the bible? A link would be even better so I don't have to look in the bible.

BOO! How many Christians will deny here, immediately, that they do not believe in Ghosts? But WAIT! Jesus is a holy ghost. To be a Christian YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE IN GHOSTS-@ least Holy One's!-Oh I'm sorry, my bad-He is a Holy Spirit-so you believe in spirits-you believe therefore in Angles, deamons devils, witches-and read Revelations and you will see described all kinds on 7 headed monsters and terrifying entities that can and will condem you to THE FIRES OF HELL! But be a good boy or girl and Jesus rewards you (Just like Santa claus). Now, in my lifetime I have never seen a thing that would represent to me an entity from beyond the REALITY that this world is reduced to. Why do I say reduced? Because the simple minds of religious fools that want to have me believe in this childish drabble would also condem me to THEIR Hell and tell me to repent or burn. Yet the only thing I see burning up is their own anger because THEY KNOW! Well heres my answer 2 that ! BQQ-HQQ & Be gQQd! kid

Seriously. Making the journey from hard-core christian to open-minded atheist was painful. It would have been nice to have people to talk to. I felt like I was the only person in the world who had been so brainwashed. But there are loads of folks going through that same thing.

I feel much better now though ;-)

First define faith, and the grounds for science and/or applying logic. Then tell me whether or not faith has a place in it.
