That's always been confusing to me. A bunch of people say that Jesus is God. And then a bunch others say that Jesus is God's son. Which is it?

Jesus is GOD. Jesus is part of the Holy Trinity (God the father, God the son, and God the holy spirit)

Jesus is the only begotten son of God the Father, making Jesus also God. For example, sun rays proceed from the sun, in the same way, Jesus has always "come forth" (begotten) from God the father, and was never created, but always existed as part of the holy trinity (God)

‘But isn’t Jesus called a god in the Bible?’ someone may ask. This is true. Yet Satan is also called a god. (2 Corinthians 4:4) At John 1:1, which refers to Jesus as “the Word,” some Bible translations say: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” But notice, verse 2 says that the Word was “in the beginning with God.” And while men have seen Jesus, verse 18 says that “no man hath seen God at any time.” (Authorized or King James Version) So we find that some translations of verse 1 give the correct idea of the original language when they read: “The Word was with God, and the Word was divine,” or was “a god,” that is, the Word was a powerful godlike one. (An American Translation) Clearly, Jesus is not Almighty God. In fact, Jesus spoke of his Father as “my God” and as “the only true God.”

Did Jesus ever say that he was God? No, he never did. Rather, in the Bible he is called “God’s Son.” And he said: “The Father is greater than I am.” Also, Jesus explained that there were some things that neither he nor the angels knew but that only God knew. (Mark 13:32) Further, on one occasion Jesus prayed to God, saying: “Let, not my will, but yours take place.” (Luke 22:42) If Jesus were the Almighty God, he would not have prayed to himself, would he? In fact, following Jesus’ death, the Scripture says: “This Jesus God resurrected.” (Acts 2:32) Thus the Almighty God and Jesus are clearly two separate persons. Even after his death and resurrection and ascension to heaven, Jesus was still not equal to his Father.

As for the “Holy Spirit,” the so-called third Person of the Trinity, this is not a person but God’s active force. John the Baptizer said that Jesus would baptize with holy spirit, even as John had been baptizing with water. Hence, in the same way that water is not a person, holy spirit is not a person. (Matthew 3:11) What John foretold was fulfilled when, following the death and resurrection of Jesus, holy spirit was poured out on his followers gathered in Jerusalem. The Bible says: “They all became filled with holy spirit.” (Acts 2:4) Were they “filled” with a person? No, but they were filled with God’s active force. Thus the facts make clear that the Trinity is not a Bible teaching. Actually, long before Jesus walked the earth gods were worshiped in groups of three, or trinities, in places such as ancient Egypt and Babylon.

Jesus is GOD. In the book of Isaiah Chap.7:14, he is prophesied and he is called Immanuel meaning God with us. in chap.9:6 he is called mighty God. In John 1:1 he is the word in whom all things were created (Genesis, 1). When Thomas saw Jesus after the Resurrection he declared "my Lord and my God (Jn 20:28) and Jesus did not refuse that title. Read also Colossians 1:15-17.
So Jesus is God in Flesh Jn 1:14.

The Bible says that Jesus was God (Spirit-invisible) covered in Flesh (visible). Jesus was Son of God from his fathers side & the son of man on His mothers side. The best way to find out is to ask God to reveal Himself to you. He will in a way that you will understand. God Bless.

In Isaiah 7:14, the birth of Jesus was prophesied. This verse says, "Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." The name "Immanuel" literally means "God with us".

Matthew 1:21-23 makes it clear that Jesus was the Immanuel spoken of and that He is truly God with us.

Isaiah 9:6 says, "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."

This verse makes it plain that the Messiah, Jesus, would be called "Mighty God". This is the same term Isaiah used to refer to Jehovah (10:21).

Micah 5:2 says, "But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting."

Micah says that the one to come was "from everlasting", or eternal. Only God has existed from eternity, and the one who was to come forth, Jesus, existed with Him, therefore, He has to be God.

John 1 talks about "the word". John says "the word was made flesh and dwelt among us" (verse 14), clearly talking about Jesus. Also he said, "The Word was with God and the Word WAS GOD"!

Here, and other places in the New Testament, the designation "word" refers to Jesus (John 1:14, 1 John 1:1, Rev 19:13).

Also, John 1 says that this "word" created all things. We read other places that "God created the heavens and the Earth" (Gen. 1:1).

Jesus is God!

He is also called "the son of God". This designation, I believe is because it is through the agency of God that Mary gave birth to Jesus. Jesus was physically born at that time, but he existed as a spirit before that. Jesus was phisically born, but had no physical father, therefore he was God's son.

Notice Jesus himself claimed to be God. He said, "Before Abraham was I AM" (John 8:58) He used the same desigination for himself that Jehovah used in Exodus 3:14 ("I AM").

Jesus was born on Earth with God being his only father, therefore he was the son of God. Also, every seed reproduces after its kind, therefore the ofspring of a cat is a cat. The offspring of a dog is always a dog. The puppy is no less dog than its father.

Jesus was born of God. (Not born from the seed of a man.) Jesus (in the flesh) was God's offspring, therefore, Jesus is the same type being as his Father. God is God, therefore, Jesus must also be God.

But Jesus was also born of a woman. The woman was human, therefore Jesus was also human. In this way Jesus was 100% human AND 100% God. But Jesus existed, as God, before he "became flesh" and he now has returned to his spiritual status.

Yes Jesus is God AND Jesus is the son of God!

Jesus is neither. He is one of the respected prophets of God in Islam. Jesus never wanted to be perceived as God. He was a Great PROPHET. God has no son.

Peace.
