Your precious Bible is full of fantasy , it has been rewritten and bastardised by Kings , who added this and that , took out this and that... The Vatican has scrolls that go against what the Bible says , so what does the Vatican say about these?? Heresy , is what they say.. Why , because anything that would destroy the RICH lives these these so called "Men of God" live , has to be denounced... These people are nothing but hypocritical parasites. Also remember this Book is brand new, straight outa the box , and the time is coming , very soon that false religions as we know them today, will be no more....

Because it is a collection of books that have been corrupted by mankind since the year 355 (during the reign of Constantine, Roman Emperor).
Of the over 19 Gospels used by the early Christians, only 4 made it to what is known as The Bible. The only books kept by the Nicea Council (which created the Roman Catholic Church), accepted as "scripture" only the books where the women were subject to man's authority. When in reality, most of the removed Gospels gave women a high degree of authority in the Church.
If you take an Anatomy book, and remove the parts about cardiovascular and the reproductive systems: Would you consider it appropriate for medical school? Obviously not. The same can be said about the Bible.
You don't have to believe me. Do a serious study about this, and come to your own conclusions, not to what some religious leaders want you to believe.

The Holy Bible shouldn't be believed. I'm a Christian, but I adhere to Gnostic thinking that the Bible shouldn't be taken literally, partly because to take it literally is to miss out on so many different hidden levels of allegorical understanding, partly because of the many revisions and imprecise compliation of the Bible. Even if part of the Bible was the literal word of God, it can't possibly all have been because we've lost so much of it. Genesis, for instance has several writers, at least two in the creation story itself, and these two creation stories don't literally mesh. They only work together taken in allegorical view.
It's silly to trust the Bible implicitly, things were written hundreds of years after they happened, including the writings about Jesus. Many of the Gospels were heavily edited to soften his message, notably Matthew. Many books were omitted from the Bible for political reasons, such as the Gospels of Judas and Mary Magdaline, because they were Gnostic texts, and some were excised because of their femenist slant. Nothing in it should be taken literally and the whole thing should be criticized. Faith isn't about blindly accepting what people give you, that's stupid. Faith is about learning about the world and understanding it as best you can. If you want to use the Bible as a guide, feel free, but don't believe it.
It's a complex and important book and it should not be ignored, but it shouldn't be believed at face value. It should be analyzed and read to your own understanding if you chose to read it at all.

The words in the Bible are divine, they are Spirit. Scripture says Spiritual things are Spiritually discerned 1 Cor 2:10-14. If you are a believer and having trouble understanding Scripture, ask the Holy Spirit to help you.

You actually have to ask that question?
A man is born of immaculate conception, the son of a god, a stick turns into a snake, people live to 900 years old, a sea is parted, water is turned into wine, a man walks on water, then the man rises from the dead...
Think about it.
The question should be "How can anyone actually believe the bible when it has as much fantasy in it as a Piers Anthony novel?".

You're kidding right? I think the question should be why do people find it hard not to believe in the bible.
Do you know why they call it the Holy Bible?
Because it has so many holes in it's teachings and doctrines.

Because God gave people a brain. Anyone with a brain and a sense of rationality and sanity cannot possibly believe in the holy bible.

1. Where is the original?
2. It has been translated over and over again.
3. Other "scripture" like the Gnostic writings keep turning up. Why aren't those in the Bible?
4. It contridicts itself the whole way through.
5. The stories are unreasonable and there is no evidence to back up the majority of them (i.e. Noah and his ark)
There's a few reasons to get you started.....

Have you ever read it? How can you believe it, or worse, subscribe to it? Stoning people for everything from murder to women not covering their hair in public. Moses ordering the murder of every male and non-virgin females, and taking the virgins for their wives. Real nice.
Every other page is another atrocity. Bunch of self righteous savages in that book.
Giants walking around, angels fornicating, murdering people who believe differently and taking their land, people living to be 500 years old. God wiping out the entire planet out of spite.
Is that enough reasons for you to understand how someone might look at the Bible with a cynical eye?

Come on, this question is just like asking why it's so hard for Christians to believe in the stories about the Greek, Roman, Norse, Hindu, Celtic Gods and Goddesses.
Because they think they're just that: stories. This is also why those of us who don't believe in the Bible DON'T: because they're just stories.
And for the same reason that we enjoy The DaVinci Code, because it's JUST a story!
PEOPLE create religion, PEOPLE create an image of God(s)/Goddess(es), and it's because they feel a connection, but have to define it in a way that makes sense to them. See, it's like this: if your blood cells were to think of "God" (and say, in this scenario, that YOU are the God they're thinking of), would they see you in the form that you are in? NO, of course not, they'd picture you as an indescribable blood cell. They wouldn't be able to judge your size, but they might create stories about what they have experienced, thinking that you are leading them along. But you are not thinking about your blood vessels. And "God(s)/Goddess(es)" are not thinking of you in that way. But we are all connected, and the Bible is just another way for people (in this case, some ancient desert peoples) to define the feeling of something bigger than themselves, but also so as not to feel so alone. So they imagine that God is directly involved in what happens in their lives instead of realizing that, yes, they might be connected (you CAN feel the connection, can't you?), but YOU are in charge of what happens to your life. I can not, as a 21st Century American, relate to an ancient desert people who possibly knew nothing more than that the world was flat and we only had 5 planets in the solar system.
Yes, the Bible might teach SOME good lessons. But God does some bad things in the Bible as well, and this is how they explain why the bad things happen to them in the old testament times. We know better now, so many things have changed, and those of us who do NOT believe in the Bible have changed our views to better reflect our current time.
