Both are written in a similar tone and come off as scripture written a long time ago (which they were). However, because the Bible was written by so many different people, styles differ from book to book and things contradict each other and overlap. And both do have violent overtones in sections. However, I think both are ultimately peaceful (even though they may not come off as that in some parts). But I did think the Bible put women down a lot more than the Qur'an.

Basically, at the end of the Bible I had tons of questions and a list of things that just didn't add up. But when I finished with the Qur'an I only had a few clarifying questions, and after some more research on topics I realized there was no real holes in the story.

Those who breathes tell me about the breaths.

Unless you are conducting a literature response, this question deals with belief. There is nothing in either the bible or the Qur'an for the non believer.

As a Christian, I find the [Christian] bible to be the corner stone of my belief. It sits next to me on the desk as compress of who am I, who I belong to do, and the hope of where I will go. [If you want the Christian message, ask any Christian.]

Qur'an is another book that I have studied. It contradicts the bible in many ways. It is a book that I do not find helpful since I belief the author to be a false prophet.

There are other books: Dao De Ching and some Zen books. Unlike the Qur'an, they offer different revelations consistent with my belief.

My answer is in the following story:
There was an American who wanted to study Zen. He found a Zen Master and asked if he could study under him. The Master asked why Zen, and the American said that Christianity lacked so much. The Master said go back and take the so little and make it much. Then and only then, you will be ready for Zen.

Why do I guess that the first two people to answer this question haven't actually read both books? (Specifically, how can the bible be "truth" and the koran be a "lie" when both agree on many points?)

Myself (yes I have read both books), I think both contain an amount of truth and an amount of wisdom, but both also contain a bit of exaggeration, a bit of legend, and a bit of morality that seems harsh and violent, at least by modern standards. I don't think they're much different from any other mythologies, with the exception that both compel their followers to go out and convert other peoples.

Bible is a lie and words are keep on ever changing from 1 bible to another.. I read a few bibles and sometime find contradiction but I read a few Quran and its translation, all the same...
So the Verdict is
Bible is a Lie and Quran is the truth....

The theory of abrogation does not imply that there is a contradiction in the Qur’an, since it is possible to follow all the verses of the Qur’an at the same time.

If there is a contradiction in the Qur’an, then it cannot be the word of Allah (swt).

"Do they not consider the Qur’an (with care)? Had it been from other than Allah, they would surely have found therein much discrepancy (contradictions)."

[Al-Qur’an 4:82]

On the other hand bible has got lot of contradictions in it which the chrisitan scholars also accept as a fault in it.. So the moment
there is a contradiction in the Bible, then it cannot be the word of GGod.

Gee, that's funny I've seen at least 3 - 4 differen Quran translations by Arab scholars and they can't agree on anything the same way twice.

Everyone knows it The translator is always mentioned and different Islamics here have different text translations.
