I know some don't even think God's real, but I do and if He is then wouldn't Satan also exist? Do you think there's good proof for it?
I am unsure on this topic, so please help.

1. Only Atheists have claimed my logic (that would potentially prove to them they are indeed Agnostic) to be a fallacy.

2. Only Atheists have claimed that everyone is born an Atheist.

I lose sleep at night because I know one day I will no longer exist. It is so sad that we only get a little bit of time here and then it's all over. I don't believe in the religious aspect of it and I really wish I could know the truth. I refuse to accept a heaven and hell theory because it has never been proven and is very unlikely anyway, it just sounds like a way to make people be good. This isnt a religious question though, I just want to know what I could do to get over this terrible fear and sadness. I dont want any answers similar to "accept jesus as your savior"

It's a serious problem

That the first scripts of tbe bible were handwritten in 1450 BC. And the first printed bible wasnt until 1460AD. Has it ever occurred to you that throughout from 3000 years of handwriting the bible somebody might have midunderstood it and wrote it wrong or simplified it or even left important stuff out.
Are you sure your reading the word of God or the views of some lonely guy with a typewriter trying to get some attention?

Would all professing atheist please describe to me what it means to be atheist without telling me what it is not. I would like to get a straight forward understanding of what people think or mean when they say they are an atheist.

Please, if you are not an atheist do not try to answer this. If you are please comment on any previous postings. I avoid sermons so be concise and to the point. Thank you.

I am wondering if you can tell me if my ex-boyfriend and I are going to get back together. I can give you whatever info you need to be able to do a read. Please IM if you need any other info. Please do not respond if you are not for real. Also, if you don't believe in psychics don't bother posting anything. I do not want to hear about how it is evil and I don't want to be preached to. Real Psychics only.

Let's start with the assumption that an Atheist knows that there are no dieties/gods/supernatural beings.

However, if you simply BELIEVE there is no God, this does not apply.

To know there are no Gods, one must know everything in and about the universe.
If one knows everything in and about the universe, they are, by definition, God.
If Atheists are their own God, then there is no such thing as an Atheist.

If one holds the simple belief that there is no God, one is not certain.
If one is not certain about the exsistence of a God, by definition, they are an Agnostic.

Is my logic wrong here?

I assume that this experiment would include regular meeting days, member volunteer-ism, contributions and the like... i.e., any or all of the details that might reflect or pattern themselves after any typically established modern-day religion. TV broadcasts, billboards, websites, bell towers and official "religious" holidays would all be fair game for this hypothetical question.

Your thoughts please.

I am not trying to be snarky. I am really wondering. I just moved from the Northeast part of the US to the South. I saw an otherwise ordinary housepainter's sign with the Christian fish symbol on it. Where I come from, there are people of all faiths who are religious, there are others who are nonpracticing and still others who are non-believers, but, generally speaking, religious views are considered your personal business. So I don't know why this housepainter would have this on his sign. Is he signaling that he only wants clients with the same religious beliefs? (Can he even do that?) What are his religious beliefs anyway: the fish symbol seems to be used by only a particular kind of Christian, evangelical? born-again? Is he trying to imply that he's a better housepainter than his non-Christian or Christian-but-don't-say-so competitors? My inital reaction is NOT to use his business. His sign seems unprofessional at best, prejudiced at worst. What do you think?
