That thou has cast upon thy brothers the first stone which ye have beared into thine own. Judge not, lest ye be judged also! For I am within my father's house and there ye shall be also if thine own heart be true.

Who does this sound like?

I have TWO questions:

1. Did Catholics really write the bible?

2. Why are some books (Judith, Wisdom, and others) that are in the Catholic bible aren't in other bibles?

Thanks!

I saw a documentary about Islam on tele and they showed a custom that got me curious. Everyone was going up to this guy who was tapping their heads with a sword until it bled. The people were then walking around hitting their heads and chanting. Unfortunately this documentary had a distinct anti muslim slant, so the ritual was not explained.

I was hoping, therefore, that some muslims could explain the significance of this ritual and what it represents? What was the symbolism here? What were the participants seeking to achieve?

I am very curious about this as I know that many religions have rituals that may seem barbaric to outsiders but which have a deep spiritual significance to participants.

I really can't believe that there are people out there that honestly think that the word of the bible is the absolute truth when it comes to creationism. I feel like the book might have had a reasonable answer to the question of our being when there was no other answer, but now that we have discovered the truth, there really doesn't seem to be much need for a made up story of Adam and Eve. This problem has always been at the forefront of scientific advancement it seems, like when it was known by all that the sun and all of the other planets revolved around Earth. That someone would come out and say otherwise was an abomination, yet eventually the church had to give up because it was obviously the other way around. I don't understand why that hasn't happened here. I see how the implications would put man at the same level as any other animal, but what's so wrong with that? Why would people want to hold on to a theory that comes from a book that has been proven wrong over and over again?

Or I should say, people of European descent (white people). Why are they still christians? Now that we live in nations where we have freedom of religion, why do we still embrace a spin-off of a Jewish religion and a Jewish Deity?

same can be said for arabs, negroids, etc.. who also had a jewish-created (islam, xtianity, mandeism, b'haism, etc..) forced on them.

(1)
Genesis: 16
15: And Hagar bore Abram a son; and Abram called the name of his son, whom Hagar bore, Ish'mael.
16: Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore Ish'mael to Abram.
So, Abram was 86 when Ism’mael was born

Genesis: 17
16: I will bless her, and moreover I will give you a son by her; I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall come from her."
17: Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said to himself, "Shall a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? Shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?"
a)Abraham was 100 years when he was first told about Isaac. So Ish’mael is 14 (=100-86)
b)How dare could Abraham laugh from and fleer his God’s word? But let’s continue

Genesis:17
21: But I will establish my covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this season next year."
At the time of Issac’s birth “at this season next year” Ish’mael would be 15=(14+1)

Having pride is a sin, and people have so much pride in believing in God - sinners. And since atheists are logical and can't prove him either way - Shouldn't everyone shut up about whether he exists, because there is absolutely no proof?

Yes, I was born gay. It is not a choice.
It is only a choice whether i act according to my God-given nature or not.
