Stay away from gossiping. You can give an opinion about known thing. Do not spread rumors, and give out secrets of your friends. : )

The dictionary defines gossip as "idle talk or rumor, esp. about the personal or private affairs of others".

In an open forum, where discussion of the news is the object, no, that's not gossip. Telling your neighbor that the guy across the street is having an affair IS gossip and is unwise.

Here's a scenario for today's news: discussing the astronaut and the charges brought against her is not gossip; adding your comments on her conduct and discussing rumor IS gossip. Get the difference?

No that is not gossip. Gossip is when your neighbor has a man over and he stays for an hour and you run around telling everyone in the neighborhood what she did, or if someone told you about it and you pass it on to those you know.

I think it's all about the attitude, what's behind it. Somethings that could be called 'gossip' could be seen in another way as concerned friends disscussing the best way to help someone. It's all relative.

I don't know abot the examples you've given, but I don't think you can label things as 'gossip' quite so easily.

Expressing opinion and gossip are different. Depends what you're talking about.

we're supposed to build up people, not talk to them or about them negatively. however, i'm not sure about your question, my guess would be, yes it is gossip.
